Trailer vs in game content
Now I'm not talking about this CG trailers and how good they look just a low blow not matter what.
What I'm specifically talking about is the Greek Legends trailer.
Specifically a few candidates from the trailer.
Jane Romero and Feng Min.
Honestly this point has been beaten to death but considering you're actually talking about selling products to consumers I don't feel like the false marketing is correct.
This is the trailer Jane Romero as you could see her hair is very light falling into a dark blonde or dirty blonde style in a similar fashion to some of Kate's
This is Jane in-game ( sorry if it's not the best quality I am a console player)
It's a lot darker and it is outright brown and like the dirty blonde or dark blonde hair we saw in the trailer now I have heard people say that it's because of the lighting in the trailer but if that's the case you really need to be careful with how you show off the lighting when it comes to stuff that entices people to buy.
Next is best girl Feng Min.
In the trailer her hair is black with some debatably white or plat blonde looking highlights in her ponytail.
Her bracelets are also a bronze or brass colour
Her hair is now brown instead of black and the highlighted streaks she has in her ponytails now gone.
Also her bracelets are no longer bronze or brass but instead a silver gold colour. Which personally I love way more than trailer bracelets but it still doesn't change the fact that it wasn't marketed that way. ( but I would be more than happy if it stays the silver gold colour)
Both Jane and Min look one way in the trailer and completely different in the actual game now as I said before with Jane you could make the argument that it was the lighting of the trailer but even then if you're selling a product you should make sure that the lighting of the visuals of the trailer don't distort the actual cosmetic giving it a false appearance.
As I said the lighting can be used to pretty much excuse the first two ( maybe not Min's bracelet change but as I said before I love the new version more so I'm just going to keep my mouth shut).
Oni
This is the second legendary outfit to come to Dead by daylight the first being Lisa.
Let's be honest it looks amazing.
My main problem is a few things are very clearly hidden and not present in the actual trailer.
1) The fact that he still uses Kuzan's Kanabo which makes next to no sense considerably minotaur is meant to be a completely different character basically the way legendaries were marketed.
So why is he still using a Japanese club weapon I have no clue it's also rather suspicious dead for the entire trailer the Kanabo is mysteriously missing from the model in fact the trailer even cuts out during the Blood Fury animation before it's pulled out.
2) the Minotaur animation are either not fully shown or just outright not in the trailer which are the exact same as Oni with little to absolutely no difference again similar with the Kanabo issue is a bit suspicious for the trailer.
Especially when legendary were marketed as being completely different characters with different animations.
Hell it's not much but even Lisa at least had a different lobby animation.
Honestly I'm trying to keep an optimistic mind set and not assuming this was done maliciously with the intent to of fool. which is saying something because I have the same amount of optimism as a fish lying in desert sand.
Especially when I consider the Clowns cosmetic name is this.
And it is changed in the actual game to reflect Hades.
So I could at least understand the argument that the trailer was made first and then tweaks to the cosmetics came down the line with it being too late to change things in a similar fashion to how the Silent Hill spotlight video says that Force penance inflict the oblivious status instead of broken.
But I still want behaviour to realise you have to be very careful with your marketing as it could build a lots of hype for certain things then disappointment or even anger when it contradicts with what people were hyped about.
Tl;dr. The cosmetic elements being outright altered from the trailer in comparison to in game is a very bad business practice and I'm hoping it wasn't intentional false advertising. However hiding elements of the Minotaur that basically proved it didn't hit the standards of what you marketed for legendary cosmetics doesn't have an excuse

They lookslike a macdonalds ad. expectations and reality.
Really disapointed I wanted a blonde Jane so bad.

Actually something about the Jane skin.
In many places for me it doesn't look blonde or even brown. It looks grey.

Honestly I wouldn't mind if it looked a little bit more run down but I am severely disappointed.
With some of the changes honestly I love the black hair with white or platinum blonde highlights that the trailer Min had.
As I said before I personally extremely prefer the silver gold bracelets to the trailers bronze brass ones but I can completely understand and someone who was really excited for the bronze brass looking ones.
While I don't care too much about Jane because I don't play her however like with the bracelets change I can understand why people would be excited for her blonde hair only to be slapped in the face when it actually got released.
I would compare it to fast food ads but even then it doesn't really hit that comparison. It would be like someone watching an advert for a beef burger only to to have the beef replaced with fish or chicken

Using graphically superior trailers to sell cosmetics isn't something new. Learn to resist the temptation and hype from seeing such.

You really didn't read my post if you think I was talking about graphical superiority.
In fact I even made a joke about how comparing those in the first line would be ridiculous and a low blow.
So my assumption is that you probably just read the title without even looking at what the post says

A TL;DR would be nice

Thanks for the suggestion amended the post accordingly.
But just in case you don't look back for it here's the tl:dr
