Ah! That's dumb, and a total waste of time on the survivors part. They should leave the area and do a different gen. Now if they 3 gen themselves that may be a different story, but even then it can be done differently.
The other night my squad was playing, and we mistakenly 3 gen'd ourselves, but we handled it a different way. We split up on all 3 gens, and would work on them while the killer was making his rounds patrolling .
