Tested out the new MMR in a new account with only 1.7 hours playtime

I've been playing the game for almost two months now but this time I used my sister's account to play with friends who are baby survivors. My sister's account only has 1.7 hours of play time during the first match that we had today. After the games, I finished with 3.9 hours of playtime in my sister's account. We had 5 matches and 4 of those, we are paired up with red ranks that decimated us in the first 5-10 minutes of the game. I love this game and I want it to improve more and its fine for me but I'm afraid that my baby survivor friends are already losing interest in this game, this MMR system is really not working imo.

EDIT: MMR or no MMR, this type of match making is still not okay in my opinion. we should be atleast matched with killers/survivors with the similar or closer ranks.

I tested this with a fresh account on PS4 and it started out as normal as ever. All basic new ranks for a couple survivor matches, but then after around 5, high ranks began to appear, including killers. Switching to killer was instant 4 red ranks against Rank 20. I'd honestly love to get my friend into the game ready for the cross-play update in the future, as he is on Xbox, but right now, I've steered him away because of the absolute trash fire MM is right now. REALLY hope this gets sorted soon because even on my normal account, getting baby survivors/killers really just destroys any fun the game produces. I enjoy the challenge of going against tough players and obliterating new players is not my idea of a good time.

Is anyone surprised that Behavior broke their game even more at this point?

I will say this until I’m blue. There is no MMR system. If there was a MMR system, Ranks would be gone. BHVR is quiet af because they have nothing to say, because there is nothing to say. There’s no system. It’s just open matchmaking

Sadly, no. What's even worse is that I fully expected some sort of broken MMR fiasco to happen as they sent it Live. Yeah, it's gotten to the point where I absolutely expect them to break their own game every time they patch or send something Live. Sigh.

Nah. I’ve been in all red vs. Rank 1-20; 3 yellows and me vs. Rank 1-20; all purples and me vs. Rank 1-20. Then there’s games where ranks just look like the colors of a rainbow.

if there was a MMR, after 10/20/30/100 games you would see a steady shift. In your example, 2 reds/yellows vs Rank 1. 2 reds/greens vs. rank 1. 2 reds/purples vs. rank 1, etc. but there’s no rhyme or reason.

I'm red rank survivor. I feel like I'm either getting matched against rank 20 killers that have 0 or maybe 1 perk equipped and my team is red/purples where we just crush the poor baby killer OR my team is rank 16-20 and the killer is a red rank that just destroys my teammates or if I'm downed first I die on first hook. Not getting many matches that are in between.

From this matchmaking I also think they need to update the tutorial to better explain trying to unhook yourself. I think new players assume that you're supposed to unhook yourself, or that you need to wait until someone hits struggle to go for a save. So many the moment they are hooked try to unhook themselves or wait until someone hits struggle to go for an unhook when they're right next to them with no killer.
