It's a leaks by daylight rumor that it's supposed to be today but there have been no official announcements that I've seen.

Considering BHVR deactivated the new MMR, it would be highly suspect if cross-play went live today. I think the devs were betting on the new MMR keeping everything fair and balanced across multiple systems.

Yeah, one of the devs posted an image in response to the question posed after they posted 2 emojis.
How does that confirm anything? It's not an official statement, and they troll with hints and fake clues all the time. Re read what I said. "If its not an OFFICIAL STATEMENT".

They did 🍭 and simon references before pyramid head, highly hinting at candyman or pinhead, and we got neither.
If it's not posted as an actual message, dont believe it's the 100% truth.
And if you really need to come back to say "I told you so", then go for it, you obviously need it to feel better when I was simply being logical.

Honestly, I hope they do. All the cross platform players will hopefully help abysmal queue times. On the other hand, I frequently see PS4 and other console players complain about long survivor queues, whereas on PC right now those are instant, it's killer who wait 20 minutes, so a drop in one may cause an increase in the other.

Note: They have nothing to risk by teasing crossplay, whereas they can potentially get in trouble with license holders by hinting at a character that hasn't been properly revealed yet.

For all I know it is already in motion. I played against a Team last night where the profile of two out of the three said they were on Consoles, not PCs like me.

Well yeah, they have nothing to lose by teasing anything. Which is why they tease.
But given the mmr issues and how it's been taken down, as well as the DC penalties twice. I wouldnt trust anything other than an official release notice.
They could just be teasing that it's coming "soon".

If they give a blatant hint teasing a licensed character that is indeed upcoming, I think they stand to get in trouble with the license holder.

If other platforms have content I cannot access on my platform, what will happen when I play with these players?
You will play against these players as you would any other, you will see the content as they play it. The only restriction is that you will not be able to access the content if it isn’t available on your platform.
