Death won't accept him and thus he remains, a calamity, indisputable master of his victims' nightmares. Dream Demon allows The Nightmare to pull Survivors into the Dream World.

  • Survivors who are awake do not see or hear The Nightmare. Awake survivors don't see or hear sleeping survivors and vice versa.
  • Once targeted by The Nightmare power, Survivors enter the Dream Transition for 5 seconds.
  • The Nightmare will see auras of awake survivors when putting a survivor in the Dream Transition for 5 seconds.
  • During the Dream Transition they can see The Nightmare intermittently.
  • When the Dream Transition lapses, the Survivor is pulled into the Dream World and leaves behind their sleeping body in the Real World.

Once in the Dream World:

  • Sleeping survivors suffer an action speed penalty of 100 %.
  • To exit the Dream World, awake Survivors can find a sleeping survivors' body in the Real World to perform a wake up action that takes 15 seconds.
  • Awake survivors will take 500 % longer to wake up a sleeping survivor when the sleeping survivor is in a chase, in the killer's grasp, on a hook, or in the Hell Realm.
  • After completing the wake up action or failing a skill check, the sleeping survivor will be teleported to their corresponding sleeping body in the Real World and will be woken up.
  • Skill Check trigger odds for all actions are reduced to a 5 % chance.
  • Failing skill checks will wake a survivor up (See Above) and will suffer a 15 % Regression Penalty.
  • Adrenaline wakes up the Survivor once triggered.
Secondary Power: (Hell Demon)
  • The Nightmare will receive 1 charge for every survivor in the Dream Realm.
  • When The Nightmare has 120 charges (Charges are represented by a red progress bar around your power icon), he can now send a survivor to the Hell Realm by targeting a sleeping survivor with his Power.
  • The sleeping survivor will be teleported inside Badham Preschool after being sent to the Hell Realm. The exits in Badham Preschool will be blocked off.
  • The Nightmare will have the option to teleport to the Hell Realm when a survivor is in the Hell Realm.
  • The Nightmare terror radius is reduced to 0 when in the Hell Realm and survivors that aren't in the Hell Realm will suffer a 25 % action penalty.
  • 3 Pallets will spawn in Badham Preschool and will automatically rebuild itself when another survivor enters the Hell Realm.
  • After the survivor has been in the Hell Realm for 120 seconds, if the survivor is in dying state in the Hell Realm. The survivor will be teleported back to the Dream Realm and the Entity will hook the survivor closest to The Nightmare.
  • After the survivor has been in the Hell Realm for 120 seconds, if the survivor is not in dying state in the Hell Realm. The survivor will be teleported back to the Dream Realm at a random location.
  • The Nightmare will be teleported back to the Dream Realm at a random location when he downs a survivor in the Hell Realm.

I know that this is really complicated understand so if you have any questions about this rework, please ask! I know, I know that this is way too complicated but that's because it looks like that when written down, basically if I sum it up... Freddy Dream Demon power is better and has a secondary power to send a survivor to a claustrophobic area to hunt them there without the survivor having a chance to run away. Please give me feedback because I think this will definitely help Freddy out and will add a new mechanic to DBD!

    This is so utterly unbalanced.

    1) Hell Realm is just strange. It overcomplicates his power WAY too much.
    2) I like everything else, BUT I don't think it's possible from a technical standpoint to have 2 versions of a survivor. Also, regarding hooks specifically, it would be a very strange mechanic and not flow with the rest of the game. Also also, I can just see the amount of BS that happens when you are chasing someone and they wake up then teleport completely away.

Freddy doesn't need all this. He just needs for transition to block all survivor actions (except pallet drops and vaults) and a rework of all his add-ons (to remove the negatives and buff his white/yellows). Outside that he just need the general killer QoL buffs.

Thanks for the civil feedback, with justification!
1.) I like the idea of the Hell Realm because it encourages Freddy to find multi survivors to charge his secondary power and it adds more diversity to Freddy. This discourages tunneling since you won't fill your secondary power as fast than would you rather put multiple survivors in the Dream Realm to fill it faster. However I respect your PoV and opinion!
2.) Yes, there can be a lot of BS that can happen but it's unlikely since if the sleeping survivor is in a chase, on a hook, in the killer's grasp, and in the Hell Realm. The survivor performing the wake up action will take 90 seconds to wake up a survivor instead of 15.

Your right in the final paragraph, he doesn't but I was thinking that if he had more diversity and more reasons to not tunnel or camp a survivor, the better!

Hell Realm isn't technically possible though. Unreal requires you to "cook" things in the engine, meaning that any time someone plays Freddy the game has to load preschool along with whatever else map it supposed to be.

Survivor wake up doesn't need to be crazy long. It should be made longer than it is now, but anything more than 7 seconds is too strong.

They also need to invert skill checks so that the success and fail zones are swapped in terms of size. Then you are basically trying to hit a normal skill check but the zone is a fail zone, and you can't just spam the button.

Yeah, I know but I don't think it'll be too much of a problem since it's just a small structure... However it can be problematic on some maps with FPS issues but it's unlikely. It takes 15 seconds to wake up a sleeping survivor (My version) or the sleeping survivor can fail any skill check, with the increased instant regression penalty. It only takes 90 seconds to wake up a survivor when the survivor is being chased, in the killer's grasp, on a hook, and in the Hell Realm... This prevents the BS on the killer's side and can waste the survivors time that they could be using on generators.

Okay. Short version is that it is far too complicated and when Freddy hooks someone, it is a death sentence. It doesn't stop camping or tunneling at all! Once Freddy hooks a survivor then he can go back to where their body is asleep and keep anyone from waking the survivor up. As long as the survivor is asleep then the survivor can't be unhooked. (you will notice that you never mentioned that hooking a survivor will wake them up) Even if hanging a survivor wakes them up then this is still a death sentence in that Freddy can just slug people and easily keep other survivors from waking up the sleeping survivor. 15 seconds is just absurd.

As long as that wall of text was, there are a lot of things that you don't mention. Does a sleeping survivor display the aura to other survivors? Does Freddy lose the ability to see someone's aura if they are outside his terror radius?

This whole concept of sending the survivor to another zone is just broken in a million different ways. Forget the coding nightmare and endless bugs and glitches that it would inevitably cause. This is the very definition of "holding a game hostage". You don't mention any limit to the number of times that Freddy could send a survivor to this hell realm. So Freddy can just continually put one or more survivors in timeout where they have to sit there with their thumbs up their behind for 2 minutes while he tunnels the remaining survivor(s). It's hard to unhook someone from the hell realm.

I don't know if you've noticed this or not, but DBD is an extremely snowball game. If I can remove one or more survivors from the map for several minutes, that changes the entire dynamic of the game. Say I kill one survivor and 2 gens are completed. This is a fairly typical game so far right? But now I've unlocked the ability to send survivors into timeout. The next survivor I find, I'm not going to waste time chasing around. I'll just teleport him out of the world. Now there are only 2 survivors left for 2 minutes. They aren't going to be able to work gens for two minutes. We all know what the game is like when there are 2 survivors left. So now Freddy can establish complete control of the generators and there is nothing the survivors can do about it. Freddy can easily keep throwing survivors into timeout for the rest of the match limiting the number of survivors to 2 which is easy pickings.

None of this even begins to cover how much it would suck for survivors. Freddy already blows to play against, but can you imagine just being constantly teleported to some preschool where there is literally nothing to do, but wait to be murdered? You don't even have gens to work on or totems to break. There is NOTHING for the survivor to do. Sounds super fun...
