Penalty for disconnection issue

The server just kicks me out of the game and penalizes me because it seems that I left the game on purpose. Why add that penalty if it doesn't work properly? Now I cannot play relaxed knowing that I can be penalized unfairly and increasing the time of the penalty.

    Since the cross platform feature has been implemented this often happens to me as a killer I never quit a game I believe the pc platform is the problem I think they quit at the same time causing the game to have a brain fart and punish me for disconnecting (I play on Xbox )

    This happened to a friend of mine on PS4 today. He experienced a server disconnection issue, but it registered as an intentional disconnection from the match so he was banned for 5 minutes.

    With all the glitches this game is known to have, I certainly don't want to be punished for DBD's shortcomings.
