Boy, it sure is a good thing that disconnection penalties are back.
Ran in to a guy using a lag switch, got locked in to a grab animation forever and then had to disconnect.
But hey. As long as you punish killers I guess.

Ah yes, the good ol “it unfairly happens to me once out 100 games so we should just let everyone DC whenever they want,” I always enjoy these threads...
I know bugs happened I’ve lost 30 minutes to a couple back to back, but the majority of DCs are just babies quitting.

I'll happily sacrifice myself to a 5 min ban for the occasional disconnect, rather than having 8 out of 10 games ruined because someone didn't like something about the match.
It happens to survivors too, its not about 'punishing killers', it's an automated system, it doesn't have a bias....unless skynet is finally here...

Survivors can just kill themselves on the hook if they're pissy little babies. This ######### only punishes people that have legitimate connection issues, game breaking bugs and killers.

There's a reason the first penalty is only five minutes. It's for situations like this.

I had three survivors Dc on me this morning - First went just after I hit them - I didn't even chase them. The second went in sympathy I guess. Sadly didn't realise until I hooked someone else, who promptly DCd when I found the last survivor. Poor Wraith, I guess no one likes him.
The ban needs to be there - having to wait a few minutes because you DC because of a power or internet outage is nothing and if a match is that bad, or you're stuck in a game breaking glitch, a few minutes wait is nothing.

Except DCing isn't exclusive to killers. If anything, in all my time playing , survivors DC a whole lot more than killers do. Most killer DC's i see are when all 5 gens are done. Most survivor DC's are when they decide they don't like the map or get downed first. As far as hook suicides go, I'd be happy for killers to have a way to give up too. But we're not talking about suicides here, we're talking about DC's only punishing killers, which they don't. Anyone who dc's gets the penalty.

I play as both sides and I second this, I see survivors against me or my teammates DC literally every game if there’s no penalty. At least that slows it down some.
The worst DC I can think of was someone who I found first in the open as Plague, got broken , then DC’d as soon as I hit them... and here’s the best part... they waited til endgame chat to tell me they DC because I was camping. The FIRST person to go down, BEFORE getting hooked, DCs because I was camping.

dc penalty did nothing if survivors cant dc they'll suicide on hook if they cant do that they'll afk the match out. this is a problem you cant solve
killers will afk or farm it did literally nothing

While I don't agree with DC'ing in general, a match where your ping seems to be connecting you to the moon is one I'd accept. Who would want to rubber band everywhere the entire match? Myself personally, I ran into the damn Hill glitch and got stuck there for 20 minutes because the killer refused to even acknowledge me and focused on everyone else despite knowing I was there thanks to AFK crows. So everyone who says DC'ing is bad, in these 2 situations, is it still bad? Would someone want this to happen to them and be forced to play a match that way? Because I certainly wouldn't.

Most people agree with a DC for the hill glitch, that’s why the penalty starts at 5 minutes... I’m sorry but these people who claim they experience a dozen game breaking bugs in the space of a day so they’ve been banned for three days, I just don’t buy it.
The more likely explanation is that Joe Blow DCs once against Spirit and once against Iri hatchet huntress and THEN experiences a bug so that DC earns him a half hour timeout so he comes here and makes up stories

I once got a disconnect 4 as plague after the first survivor cleansed seconds after getting infected and then dc'd right after.

Exactly, I’m not saying first hook suicide is much better than DC but it doesn’t give you a penalty, it buys your team a few second while the killer carries you and it gives the killer hook points and BBQ stack.

And Pop! Although if they are gonna bounce first hook, chances are you wont need it anyways.

That stinks, but it’s a very, VERY small chance that happens. Yes it stinks you get penalized for it but the trade off is not having people DC every game for the most asinine reasons and I think that’s a trade off I’ll make even the times it has screws me over.

Lol true, an early 3 vs 1 is not challenging but I usually just end it fast as a killer rather than turn it into a 30 minute friendly farm game. I’ll usually give last person the hatch even though it means i Depip.
And yes Pop triggers, also survivors who have Kindred see where everyone is and is doing. If a teammate kills themselves on hook but my teammates are doing gens as well then I stick it out and hope we can pull one out. If they’re already hiding then I accept my fate as well on first hook.

Oh yeah I totally agree with that. I find it hard to beleive at times someone has their game amazingly crash 15 times in a row just as a match starts against Spirit or Freddy, but never any other killers.

then make it for survivors only then because when killer dc you still get your points and your not stuck in the middle of a game.
I say this because like I said survivors will just by pass it kill them self so whats the point?.
