Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Perks in this game ( for the most part) are fine as they are

I have been thinking about the issue of perks in this game and it got me thinking of a few things. I was watching space coconuts video on killer perks, and although i don't tend to like his videos at all, he did make some good points in his video on the issue of killer perks and how bad and useless some can be and this also got me thinking. about perks in this game. I would make the argument that for the most part perks in this game are are fine as is. This is mainly because its best to categorize the perks in two different ways 1. Stand alone perks, and 2. Synergy perks. I feel doing this is best for the game.

  1. Stand Alone Perks. These are perks where they work well on their own. They don't need other perks in order to do its job on its on. When paired with other perks they are really strong, (i.e Decisive Strike and Unbreakable. On there own they get the job done however both paired together is very strong almost OP)
  2. Synergy Perks. These are perks that on there on they are not that strong and maybe niche and useless, but specifically paired with other perks they can be really strong and just as viable. (i.e Iron Will and Lucky Brake or Autodidact and Solidarity) I should also mention that all perks are synergy perks but not all of them are Stand alone perks. that's why i would classify the two differently. Another thing to note would be that synergy perks can also be good with a specific killer as well. I don't play killer so tell me if I'm wrong but i would classify Thanataphobia as a synergy perk because on its own it doesn't seem to make that big of an impact on gen speed and seems to be really good when you pair it with other gen regression perks, anyway thanatatphobia seems to be a really good perk on legion because of his ability to make survivors injured quickly. (keep in mind i don't play killer so i don't know how accurate this assumption is)

This is no way in any shape or form is to say that every perk as a whole is fine, I can understand that some perks can be too strong for players to counter and handle and the devs should definitely look into making better changes to make overpowered perks balanced and buff really bad perks as well. Also some perks is dependent on the persons skill and play-style to make it work well (which is fine because all you have to do is change your play style to fit the build), But all in all for the most part perks are fine and I think in order to change up the meta would be to accept some of these perks to make good, fun and clever builds that could change the game up. If you have any disagreement with my view on this system I would be good to discuss it.

I would say at least 50% of the perks on both sides are just mediocre-bad, with another 25% being meme worthy (that's worse than bad).

Only about 25% of the perks are decent-good and honestly I feel like that's being extremely generous.
