Did I just play against survivors who were hacking?

I'm completely stomped as to what just happened in my last game.

I was playing as Bubba on the hospital map, found all the survivors at once because they were slamming down pallets with no purpose (either messing around or wanting to farm). Proceeded to play the game normally, down one of them with my chainsaw, only for another survivor to come along, heal them for a split second, and bring them back from the ground, to complete full health, almost as if they were using the old insta-heal item.

This happened multiple times..all of them instantly bringing up another survivor by two health states (downed to full, in 1 second), sometimes within the span of 30 seconds. Clearly not doing generators and trying to mess with me with their clicking flashlights, I eventually downed two of them at once. Then, out of nowhere, all four of them (with not a single generator done) had escaped, ending the game. Not disconnected, but escaped? The symbol was there and in the post-end details, they all had received 5K bloodpoints for escaping.

Did I just face hacking survivors? Or are they using perks/items I have absolutely no idea of? I've been out of the loop for around a year, but this seems way too suspicious..
