Two graphics updates?
I understand we're getting multiple updates for graphics. I'm speaking of current gen to next gen. Their announcement says "game will have improved graphics over current gen versions" does that mean it'll have better graphics than the graphic updates we're already getting? If so, why? Nobody plays this game for graphics.

I just feel the newer graphics they're already pushing out will be enough. Why not just actually fix the frame rate and bugs? Pushing two graphic updates will result in the hire of another team or moving team members over to that. Which then could effect our experience even more.

I'm pretty sure the graphics updates we're already getting are the graphics update for next gen consoles. Not 2 graphics update, just 1

I will play DBD on PS5 over PS4 if the game runs better. I could care less about graphics to be honest, it's all about the game play for me
I don't plan to buy a PS5 this year though so gonna wait and see

That's what I was thinking. But why would they say "The game will feature improved graphics OVER current gen versions" Although I plan on buying next gen, I just feel like... Why?! Sorry for the rant, I'm just confused

There isn't going to be 2 graphics update. Only one, which will release in separate batches between Sept 8th of this year and late 2021.
The first part will contain updated Yamaoko maps, Badham maps, locker models, item models, generator models, and chest models, with new animations for the latter two.

You said everything we all knew..... And how do you know it's not two separate updates?? Read it.. It says will have improved graphics OVER current gen. If you're going to comment be useful and not repeat what I said I already knew...

That's what I'm saying. All platforms will be getting the same one graphics update. I don't know where you got the idea that next gen consoles are getting something else. They are not.

And they said on their new post graphics will be done by 2020. End of year... Get your facts right. Especially if you're going to try and help.

Again, if you actually read you'd see where I got it. Thanks but I'm done reading your replies. You keep blurting the same ish people said or we already know.

The graphics update involves re-modeling, retexturing and all of that stuff. The graphics upgrade talked about for next-gen consoles is probably more like turning the graphics quality setting on PC up from low to high or something, which is very different. Better graphical fidelity and hopefully better performance as well.

There is only one graphics update which all platforms will get. The DBD Twitter account is clear:
The only difference with the next gen consoles is the game will be running at a higher resolution and frame rate.

Okay, now that makes sense instead of other people just blurting out their mouth what they don't know. Appreciate it.

Okay, I'm sorry for blowing up but you kept repeating what was said. This helps a little. So thank you. I just still don't understand why they said "The game will feature improved graphics OVER current gen versions" to me that says it will have better graphics over the current gen. I was just expecting better frame rate etc with next gen.

No biggee. They woreded it funny but yes the only change between old and new consoles will be the resolution and frame rate. Otherwise it's the same graphics across all versions.

Again, I apologize. Now I just wonder if PS5/Series X will be cross play with all of us. I would assume yeah, but who knows with BHVR.

Yeah, I'm confused and a bit worried. I plan on buying next gen, but probably a year after releasing.

They will probably drop support for the old consoles once they see a large majority of players have switched over or when they feel like the old consoles are holding the game back.
But remember the existence of Switch and low to mid range PCs are also a factor. Their playerbase combined with the old consoles will make up a large majority of DBD players for a long time. So I expect support for less cabable platforms to go on for years at minimum.

what I want to know is this graphics update going to make my ps4 blowup?

the "graphic update" the new consoles will get will most probably be simply higher resolution textures and possibly more granular shader effects, but maps will 100% be the same on all platforms.
And I'm not being a Nostradamus, it's just that if cross-play is here to stay (and I have no reason to believe otherwise), the games need to be 100% compatible on all platforms.
Maybe (but that's a biiiiiiig maybe) some models will have an increased number of polygon, but I would be extremely surprised by that.

if I don't post after this update you knwo what happened.
