Active bear trap doesn't kill if they run in a straight line out the gate. (PC-Steam)

Step 1 : Play pig
Step 2 : Have active bear trap on survivor
Step 3 : Have gates open
Step 4 : Watch survivor with active bear trap walk out the gates, hear the noise and see them die, they get an escape anyway in the end game screen and on the survivor status icon.
I think this has to do with the changes made to the server tick rate, could be wrong
- Character played- Pig
- Perks played- Third seal, corrupt intervention, knock out, ruin
- Map- Badhamn preshool 4/ Midwhich Elementary
- Frequency of the issue- happened 2 out of the 2 times survivors with active traps tried to run out the gate
