Ever since I played Dead by Daylight on May 2020 per the recommendation of a friend, I loved it, and also it became one of my favorite games. So I said to myself "why not try to create ideas for a fan-made chapter". I posted this on Reddit, but I needed to find out in a much detailed discussion specifically in the forums of DBD. Maybe could be not the best, but I think it could have something good. It goes like this:

Chapter Title: The Light in a Dark World

This chapter features:

  • A new Killer (The Ravager)
  • A new Survivor (Mary Jane Fitzgerald)
  • A new Map (The Boneyard)

Description (similar to how it's written in the Official DBD Gamepedia)

The Light in a Dark World is a brand-new chapter for Dead by Daylight, which includes a new Map. Purchasing The Light in a Dark World DLC will unlock its new Killer, and a new Survivor.

Established during the mid 80’s, in Willow’s Bell, California, there was a time of misunderstanding the vulnerable, a moment of desperation for the discriminated, an era where the Light and Darkness took hold on the identities of the good and evil.

As darkness was rising, an ambitious and antisocial man, Ryland Jones, wanted to earn the favor of evil. As he slowly gained the means, including being bestowed with unimaginable evil powers, Ryland unleashed a wave of blood and violence throughout the lands with his alter-ego infamously known as The Ravager. He proceeded to hunt down anything that stepped into his way, being good or bad, human or animal, little or big. His quest for infamy was very simple: Become the most evil, sanguinary, and inhuman person that has ever existed in millenia.

Mary Jane Fitzgerald, a supernaturally blessed and mentally ill young lady, and a survivor of a terrifying events, has found her place in the world. However, even after her survival, Mary Jane still remembers her nightmarish past, but knowing the dangers that she has been put into over her teenage life, Mary Jane is ready to face-off against the dark reality. As she moves on in her life, she is once again hunted down by evil, but now she has the tools to be prepared for what’s coming after her.

Killer: The Ravager

The Ravager is a decision-altering killer, who is able to surprise Survivors when they won’t expect anything with his power, Devastation. Affected Survivors will find themselves in harm’s way with their health at risk, and they must be prepared when it’s time to act.

His personal Perks, Hex: Dead Silent, Scar of Revenge, and Fall and Pray, give him the ability to take Survivors down with silent ease, undo their progress of escape, and force them to rethink their decisions.

Difficulty rating: Hard (based on the amount of time and effort that is required to properly learn to play him and use his Power effectively)

Weapon: Blood Talon

The Blood Talon is the primary weapon for The Ravager. A lethal talon that not only can wound victims, but also puts them in a slow but perilous road to death.

Killer Power: Devastation

Press the Power button to activate Devastation when the Power gauge is full.

Devastation has two special abilities: Lethal Gnash and Hindering Tar. The Lethal Gnash causes Survivors to be affected by The Ravager’s exclusive status effect, Ravaged. Survivors will scream or vomit blood at random intervals, while losing Health. Hindering Tar is the trail that The Ravager leaves while Devastation is activated, which hinders Survivors if they step on it.

Any Attack fully depletes the Power gauge, making The Ravager enter in a Fatigue state of 5 seconds, and deactivates Devastation for 30 seconds.

Special Attack: Lethal Gnash

Press hold the Power button to perform a Lethal Gnash attack, unleashing a dark slash with his left hand on the Survivor targeted by The Ravager. Survivors struck by Lethal Gnash will be afflicted by the Ravaged Status Effect.

Special Ability: Hindering Tar

As The Ravager activates Devastation, he will secret a gooey tar-like substance that is left in the ground. This trail will last for 60 seconds by default. If a Survivor steps over the tar, will scream, and darken the Survivor's view, suffering from the Blindness Status Effect. This will trigger Killer Instinct for 3 seconds. Survivors affected by the tar cannot interact with certain props, but they can take off the tar of their face.

  • When a Survivor is ravaged, other Survivors located at a maximum of 10 meters away from The Ravager will scream and suffer from the Exposed Status Effect for 10 seconds.
  • Tremendously increases Devastation’s recovery time.

Memento Mori: The Ravager slices the Survivor’s neck nape, then he turns it around and stabs the left eye with the talon. He ends the scene by wrathfully screaming.

Perks

1.- Hex: Dead Silent: A Hex rooting on the power of bloodshed. Downfall fills your taste of death, becoming silently lethal.

Each time a Survivor is put into the Dying State, you gain a Token. You receive a Token up to a maximum of 4 Tokens.

The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.

"I'm doing the world a favor. I'm ending their suffering by making them vanish".- Ryland Jones

2.- Scar of Revenge: No matter the times they try to stop you, they will pay with harsh consequences.

When you are stunned or blinded, Scar of Revenge is activated for 20/30/40 seconds. This grants the ability to break a Generator and regress it 5/10/15% of its progress.

Scar of Revenge has a cooldown of 40/30/20 seconds after breaking a Generator or if the timer ends.

"There is a fine line between being vengeful, and being a genius... which one of us has now stepped over that line. I'm expecting an answer!".- Ryland Jones

3.- Fall and Pray: The dark reality that you embrace will make your victims learn about “true” survival.

You become obsessed with one Survivor.

When the Obsession is hooked, Survivors located 6/10/14 meters awaya from the hooked Survivor, will be afflicted by the Exposed Status Effect for 15 seconds.

Fall and Pray can only be triggered once every 100/90/80 seconds.

You can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

"The ultimate salvation for every man is to die for its sins".- Ryland Jones

Trivia

  • It takes Survivors 10 seconds to heal themselves from the Ravaged Status Effect.
  • It takes Survivors 8 seconds to take the Hindering Tar off their face.
    • Notably, only one Survivor can help the afflicted one, which decreases the duration to 4 seconds.

Survivor: Mary Jane Fitzgerald

Mary Jane Fitzgerald is a troubled teenager, trying to find her purpose in the world, and has a special gift within her heart and soul that surrounds something not from this world.

Her personal Perks, Spiritual Awareness, Paranormal Activity, and Blinding Lights, give her the power to alert, protect and save Survivors, increase their escape progress, and overcome the obstacles the Killer puts in front of them.

Difficulty rating: Hard (based on only her unique perks)

Perks

1.- Spiritual Awareness: The supernatural forces have given you specialties to thrive in the realm of The Entity.

You cleanse Totems and interact with the Killer’s belongings 6/7/8% faster.

After you cleanse any Totem, it grants the ability to see the Killer’s aura and its obstacles for 3/4/5 seconds.

The Killer will be highlighted with a pink Aura, while all Killer’s obstacles and traps will be highlighted with a white Aura.

Increases the odds of being the Obsession.

"When I discovered everything that made me special, I promised that I will never let my soul fall into the abyss. Not even in my worst day".- Mary Jane Fitzgerald

2.- Paranormal Activity: While helping others, your spirit spreads heavy alterations to technology, to the point of getting benefits.

When Healing others from the Injured State, all Generators within a 8/16/24 meter radius are given 1/2/3% progress. After healing the Survivor, you become Injured and afflicted by the Broken Status Effect for 90/75/60 seconds.

Any benefited Generator will not be fully completed with Paranormal Activity. The Survivor must interact with the Generator in order to complete it.

Paranormal Activity will not repair Generators blocked by The Entity.

Why do I always deliver the paradigm shift?”.- Mary Jane Fitzgerald

3.- Blinding Lights: The Entity is so terrified of your pureness, that it becomes so fragile but at the same time hellbent with making your life a living hell.

After successfully doing three perfect cooperative actions, Blinding Lights will be available and activate-able.

When Blinding Lights is activated, it will prevent The Entity from blocking Exit Gates, Generators, Pallets, and Windows for 20/30/40 seconds. If a Survivor is in a Hook before Blinding Lights is activated, the Entity’s work progress is halted for the timetable of the perk, whatever is the Escape phase or the Struggle phase.

After activating the perk, you Aura will be illuminated for 5/4/3 seconds.

This will also result in you becoming the Obsession.

Increases the odds of being the Obsession.

The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

"This is not a story you dictate. This is not a story you write. I write my own story!".- Mary Jane Fitzgerald

Trivia

  • Spiritual Awareness can see the following obstacles:
    • The Trapper’s Bear Traps
    • The Hag’s Blackened Catalyst
    • The Nightmare's Dream Snares and Dream Pallets
    • The Demogorgon's Active Portals
    • The Executioner's Rites of Judgement
  • Paranormal Activity works in the same way as Recovering from the Dying State; like how Survivors will need another Survivor to finish healing them from the Dying State, Generators need to be interacted to be fully repaired.
  • While doing a cooperative action to activate Blinding Lights, if you fail any Skill Check, it will not count for activation, so you have to do the Skill Checks perfectly.

Realm: Willow’s Bell

The Realm consists of 1 Map and is set in a cemetery theme. The Realm’s prominent colour palette is blue-purple.

Map: The Boneyard

The Boneyard is the only Map of the Willow’s Bell Realm.

Lore: Considered as a terrifying place by numerous people due to the mysterious and ghostly energy surrounding the place, the Boneyard is a heartbreakingly sad, but also a benevolent place. This can be explained by the use of white marble tombstones that, according to the founder, Michael Hawthorne, represent a “pure and good memorial” to the fallen people that were buried.

Ghosts and sorrows were making their presence in this sacred place. Disrespecting the fallen, mocking them, is seen as a blasphemy by the neighbours of Willow's Bell. Others think that the respect they have for the Boneyard is because of the magnificent energy it has, and the hard work that the fallen have done in life.

Despite that the enlightened benevolence is still there, the Fog has taken over the place and used this exact same image to deceive the victims of his endless game, in order to make them fall easier and more violently. Now, there is no place to hide in these grounds.

Landmarks: There are four main landmarks for The Boneyard, consisting of the Requiem to the Fallen, the Sorrow Hill, the Fountain of Tears, and the Undertaker's Warehouse.

1.- Requiem to the Fallen: The main and well-known landmark of The Boneyard, consisting of a zone with marble tombstone rows, petrified wooden-buildings, bushes, and a woman’s statue made of marble. Most of the Generators are located in this zone.

  • There are four Jungle Gyms in the area, having from 1 to 3 Lockers. Some Generators can be found within the buildings.
  • A Generator can be found in the center of the tombstone rows.
  • A Chest can be found in the grounds.
  • A Totem potentially spawns here.

2.- Sorrow Hill: A landmark that is known for being a hill that has a big weeping willow tree with bone-made ornaments hanging in the branch.

  • Near the upward direction of the hill, a Generator can spawn moderately.
  • A Chest always spawns in the hill.
  • A Totem can be found in this place.

3.- Fountain of Tears: A landmark unique in its form for having a water fountain made of stone.

  • Next to the fountain, the Killer Shack spawns here.
  • In some cases, a Generator can spawn inside the Killer Shack. In other cases, the Basement spawns here.
  • A Totem can be found next to the fountain, or inside the Killer Shack.

4.- Undertaker’s Warehouse: A landmark distinctive for its mossy and withered warehouse, located near a hearse with a coffin coming out of the back of the car, and a weeping willow tree next to it. The warehouse has a staircase that leads to the rooftop.

  • The Basement mostly spawns here.
  • A Toem potentially spawns here.
  • Inside the Warehouse, there are 3 Lockers.
  • A Generator always spawns on the rooftop of the warehouse. If this Generator is completed, the achievement/ trophy “Now That We’re Dead” will be obtained.

Offering: Spectral Pendant

Spectral Pendant is a Uncommon “Realm Selection” Offering. Tremendously increases the chance to be sent to Willow’s Bell when burnt.

Crafted by the Heart, and the Soul that brought the Purest Soul Ever Known to this dark world, it’s a special pendant that draws bright and benevolent power, scaring the evil away…

Achievements/ Trophies (like how it can be seen in Steam, Microsoft or Consoles)

  • Adept Mary Jane: Escape with Mary Jane Fitzgerald using only her Unique Perks: Spiritual Awareness, Paranormal Activity, and Blinding Lights.
  • Adept Ravager: Achieve a Merciless Victory with The Ravager using only his Unique Perks: Hex: Dead Silent, Scar of Revenge, and Fall and Pray.
  • Now That We’re Dead: Repair the Generator in the rooftop of the Undertaker’s Warehouse in The Boneyard, and live to tell the tale.
  • Doomed for Devastation: Ravage a total of 50 Survivors with The Ravager.
  • Stronger than Death: While being ravaged, escape a Trial without removing the Gnash.

Status Effect: Ravaged

Exclusive to The Ravager, Survivors affected by the Ravaged Status Effect are slowly losing 1% of their health for a 18-second interval.

  • To halt the health loss process, Survivors can cure themselves from Injured to Healthy.
  • A ravaged Survivor will die after 30 minutes suffering the status effect, if he/ she doesn’t remove it in time.
  • If a ravaged Survivor manages to escape the Trial without removing the Ravaged Status Effect, the achievement/ trophy “Stronger than Death” will be obtained.

I'm open for advice, comments, and even combining other in-game perks with any of the six fan-made perks that I mentioned in this thread. If there is something unbalanced or could be considered "broken", just let me know. I saw many of the fan-made chapters that some of the community members have made, and I liked them a lot.
