Are People Buying Locked Outfits?
I haven't seen many people wearing the locked outfits and it's mostly some variation of Cheryl. Wouldn't they make more money from separate pieces?
I know for myself I like to mix and match stuff but this locked stuff is so limiting and I'm actually wondering if people are actually buying them.
Have you bought any sets?

I haven't, but that's mainly because I already have cosmetic pieces I like on my characters. Unless I get utterly bored of what they're wearing I probably won't buy anything new.
That said I have all the characters so my wardrobe is bigger than it sounds. I just change my flesh too.

I bought the nea one. Originally I regretted it but it's grown on me. I do think they'd make more money off separates though. That's what I do, swap around the outfits.

I won't I wanted to just buy the one head for pyramid head but it's a set lame as hell
2 -
I would be more likely to buy linked sets if at least 1 piece was able to be unlinked.
I think both Nea's set and Kate's upcoming set look quite nice, but I can't imagine buying them unless they go on a deep discount at some point in the future; if Nea's pants or Kate's head were customizable with other outfits, I would consider buying the full sets just for those minor variations we could do.
A big portion of cosmetics for me is being able to look unique in a lobby full of the same character - I don't want to get tunneled just because they can't tell us apart while we're all doing the same tome challenge.

Yeah exactly, I like to make my survivors look different and mix and match since we're all pretty much the same lol. I'm more inclined to buy single pieces, the only times I've bought full outfits is when I knew I could use each piece with something different.

I got Clown’s Hades one.

I'm not, and I won't unless they give Lisa a different voice/lobby name or the Nea one goes on sale.
For Lisa, while I really like Silent Hill, if they're not going to put that extra effort into making legendary cosmetics feel different and special I'm not buying it. I will not pay around the same price as 2 DLCs for Heather in a nurse outfit.
As for Nea, she and Quentin are my Survivor mains. While I'm not a fan of the very concept of non-legendary cosmetic sets, I'd make an exception and get one for either of them... ...if it's on sale.
-
All this is a moot point though, because I'm not spending another cent on anything in DbD until I can at least go through the main menu on PS4 without the game constantly freezing.

Linked sets are boring. No point buying something that isn't unique.
I can understand a skin like Oni's, but some of the other sets are questionable.
7 -
I really wanna buy the Oni one but funds are out of budget atm.

I buy the ones on killer and the Cheryl ones anything else I don’t care about cuz I don’t play any other survivor
0 -
I bought the Alessa one because yeah but I'm not gonna buy any for the regular survivors because it doesn't change who they are.

I bought the minotaur skin for oni. That's the only one i think is worth the flex.
1 -
ive only bought one of the green cheryl skins and bunny legion, because they looked cute
i dont regret buying those but im not buying any other legendary skin or linked cosmetic if they dont look extremely unique and cool
1 -
I bought the Nea one because it's fire. I won't be buying onesies again though. I vastly prefer customization.
0 -
No i won't buy them. Those cosmetics are almost twice the price of a chapter
1 -
I only have one of the Cheryl's just because her base variety in cosmetics is so lacking - just palette swapping the shirt.
That said I have zero intention of buying locked sets. I do not want to support what I feel are bad trends.
2 -
"Wouldn't they make more money from separate pieces?"
Yes, they would.
Personally, I got the Nea-Cosmetic, and I will also get other Sets, if I like them. In general, I like Sets, since they give the possibility to create Cosmetics which were not possible before because they would create clipping issues.
2 -
I bought Oni's Minotaur skin, because it's great.
1 -
I currently have Pyramid Head's corrupted one and I plan to get more when I have the funds. I personally love the linked outfits and don't understand the level of hatred they get.
1 -
I bought Nea's linked set because it's badass looking and definitely her best skin. I also got Pyramid Head's Corrupted and Forge Born skins since I love them.
Linked sets in general don't really bother me much as so far they look great as sets, so I probably wouldn't mix them anyways (with the exception of Cheryl's skins)

I've only gotten Silent Hill sets because those are the only interesting ones to me. Really not a fan of sets in general though.

The only one I bought was this one for Cheryl because I had auric cells left over and I never want to buy into that awful battle pass again

Yep, I got Jane's set. I thought it looked awesome, and even though her hair looks grey I still think it looks awesome. Only one I've bought though.
1 -
I think they only are allowed to sell Cheryl outfits together because design obligations with konami.

I have one for Cheryl and Nea. Will not be buying any other locked sets, unless it's something so amazing that I can't resist.
I like mixing and matching and I do buy full sets of non-locked cosmetics.
1 -
I only bought Cheryl's Lisa outfit because I'm a mega SH Fanboy, but I'll not buy the others. I like being able to customise every now and then
1 -
I would've bought some variation of the Cheryl clothes (not Lisa) and probably the head of Pyramid Head but I refuse to buy the linked skins. The only skin I bought from the recent set was Feng Mings since I can mix and match it.
1 -
i did buy the Pyramid Head outfit sets, because i think they look really nice (and its not like he had or is going to get any other options anyway)
i'm not interested in the linked sets for original characters that have other options available though

I bought the one for Nea. I will never buy another because the idea of not being able to mix and match and make it my own really bothers me. If it were to unlock a completely new skin WITH different stances and voice acting I would heavily consider it.
2 -
Nope, they poorly introduced it and continued to poorly do it.
Had to check the patch notes out of everything to figure out what two diamonds meant. (Nice Job on that)
Skins that didn't require linking at all because Konami being horrible.
Skins that didn't need to be fully linked that wasn't Konami's doing. (Nea head was shown to be fine on other bodies, Jane head, Clown weapon, Oni weapon)
Legendary Skins being more or less overpriced Purple Sets.
And worst of all: Can't Mix & Match Shirtless Clown, my Shirtless Mr Puddles dreams are shattered.

I have the Hades skin and the Nea skin. I don't mind the full set ones, really.

Not 1.
I will not buy an outfit that strips every sort of original customization that makes your character so unique.

I’m considering buying PH’s first outfit because I actually like it. However I also don’t want to support the game in its current state (I’m only buying chapters for the trophies, and even then that might be too much) and $10 is still a lot for a skin.
As for the other linked skins, hell no! None of them are worth their asking price (like most cosmetics) and don’t need to have the entire outfit linked.
0 -
Nope. Unless they add a Coach or Elis legendary skin to Bill, not a chance.
1 -
If cosmetics had been linked from the beginning, people would have bought them. Complaining just to complain.
0 -
I just wanted the sword lol
0 -
I got the burning pyramid head outfit because it just looks super sexy.
In the grand scheme of things yes I think they would make a lot of money if it wasn't linked together as I already know a lot of people who are normally willing to buy full outfits just for the one to customise but because of the locked system they not even bothering

A wise man once said 'you cannot give jiggle physics, then just take them away' ...same thing.

the voice would be odd though

I bought for Cheryl, and i'm planning to buy one for kate, nea and Ph.

I have 3 for Cheryl, 1 for Legion and 1 for Nea. I don’t mind getting the locked cosmetics as long as I love all 3 pieces. But if I don’t, I won’t buy.
0 -
Nope, I was going to get the PH sword, but I can't get just the sword, so I just didn't buy anything. I didn't like the whole outfit, I just wanted the 1000 degree knife. Have not bought a single linked set, and I'm probably not going to.
0 -
Maybe, but I honestly don't care.
