Unbreakable, Soul Guard & DS Combo

What are your overall thoughts on this perkbuild? I’ve seen this quite often lately. Yesterday there was a full SWF playing against Otz. 3 of them running this perkbuild the last one was running Adrenaline, DS and Unbreakable. They played on Haddonfield, Otz was playing Doc. They weren’t playing good. One got even grabbed. It was one of those cases you see survivors escaping, solely because of their perkbuild after playing super bad. They were farming each other off the hooks. Not taking protection hits after unhooks. Not using BT. No teamplay at all.

I wonder if survivors need even more second chance perks. Or maybe just add another hook, so killers can only kill them on the fourth hook. Sad to see perks becoming stronger than skill in this game.

But what are your thoughts on this perkbuild? What do you think about the synergy between Unbreakable, Soul Guard and Decisive Strike? Does this need to get nerfed?

Speaking as a survivor main who doesn't run any of these perks -- the only reason I even CONSIDER equipping any of them (mainly DS) is because I've had a streak of bad games, and I start thinking "maybe I'll have better games with this on." Even a lot of streamers put it that way. When you watch their videos and they equip DS they say "If the killer tunnels me..."

That's the thing though is that these perks are reactionary; you expect the killer to play that way hence you equip those perks. I'm not trying to put this on any one side, and I do think that that build is OP, but only if the killer plays into it if that makes sense.

    Never tried it

Occasionally I’ll put BT or Unbreakable in my build.

I don’t use DH or DS

I’ll probs jus use Unbreakable an Soul Guard, or maybs NoMither w Unbreakable an Soul Guard.

I’ve heard positives more than negatives, tho most killer mains don’t approve.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I don't want to run those perks. I'd rather run gimmick builds having to do with things like vaulting, sabo, no mither, or breakout. But I can't because nearly every game, I'm downed less than 10 seconds off the hook and put right back on without a chance to do anything. The second I dare to try something fun, and the killer sees there's no obsession in the game; that's their cue to camp/tunnel everyone they get their hands on because there's no penalty for it.

As killer, I hardly run into this problem because I don't give them the chance to use those perks. I essentially play with mostly perkless survivors.

That build shouldn't HAVE TO exist. Unfortunately, it does. And, unfortunately, I'm forced to run it if I actually want to play the game.

If no one slugged high skill matches would never be won by the killer.

They can be very overpowered if the survivors know how to play which isn't the case of most of people being carried by a micro pp build. I just played against these sweties and they got so wrecked that I only used my mori on last hook. Perfect game.

Many things need to happen in order for you to get soul guard value. Firstly you need to slug. Slugging means you're putting pressure on 2 survivors at same time, 1 on the ground 1 is being chased. If you down the 2nd survivor, you can 1. keep slugging, 2. pick up the 2nd survivor, 3. pick up 1st survivor. If you think they have soul guard you can pick up the 2nd survivor and I don't see a problem on it. If you can't pick the 2nd survivor because you see a 3rd survivor then all team is under pressure and there's also no problem on it. You're making bad decisions if you 1. go back to 1st survivor or 2. don't manage to down the 2nd one after downing the 1st. If Otz made one of these mistakes then it's his fault. Top ranks is all about knowing how to play around meta perks. But I agree, survivors' reward is too much, still risk is very high and needs coordination/killer's innocence.

I spent 400k and wanted to get back to 1MM for tomorrow. So I ran BT, WGLF, Empathy and Autodidact to be the medic. Total disaster, just hard tunnel and insta-hook bc no Obsession in that match. The other two DC because they were slugged without one-time use UB while he was looking for the last guy, but luckily he found the Hatch. Unfun but people like that Killer are why people run meta.

Not true, I see The Killer 3-4k often without ever tunneling or slugging. Ime tunneling is more of a problem, at least on PS4 I think many are too worried about UB. With that said, feel free to do as you please but remember the bill always come due. There are consequences for your decisions and that needs to be weighed more heavily. I do just fine without the aforementioned behavior, do I 4k every trial? No but that is never my goal (unless a Challenge requires it). I've had wins with a 2k, still get 20k+ points and I'm fine with that. I don't need to kill three or four to feel satisfied with my investment. Then again teabaggers, clickers, and the lot never bother me.

In theory its op but I 4k'd against a swf with it. Maybe with optimal teams I would say so. I never run into it often.
