Was there a shadow change for Pallet spawns reduction?

Maybe it's just me with luck but I'm seeing a lot more dead zones as a survivor or killer across maps like Dead Dog Saloon, Crotus Asylum, and Bedham Preschool (Sadly not Hawkins since people pre-dropping 20 pallets is a good time...)
Anyone else noticing some differences on spacing or just complete lack of spawns in certain areas?
