Did players leave in droves after this chapter? “Playing” for an hour today and only 1 match.
Queues as either killer or survivor are absurdly long.
Have players left in large numbers?

I honestly doubt it. My killer queues are still instant.

Well they released a broken update, what did they expect? If they don't release an hotfix very soon they will drop even more... I guess

Probably some glitch with matchmaking (what's new?). My queues have also been way slower today and yesterday than they were the days before, or last week. Maybe it's because it's the middle of the week, but it seems like something's not right.

I don't think so, my queues for killer are almost instant!
my queues for survivor take forever, but that's pretty normal lol

My survivor and killer queues have been instant today, both red ranks.
The survivors I keep getting on my team are freshly grown potatoes though.
Edit: Survivor lobby is taking more than a minute. Everyone go play killer now so I can do these survivor challenges kthx

My queues are the same on Survivor- a bit longer on Killer though.
TBH I think there might be a server problem, because my game will go between normal and acting up really badly...

I just played a survivor match and I encountered the glitch where the killer doesn't have a terror radius. The blight hooked me in the basement, I was rescued, I then ran up the steps and the blight had no heartbeat and instantly downed me again.
The amount of glitches that exists with this game makes me ponder why we even play? It's certainly enough to make any player stop playing.

Yeah, queue times seem fine for me. The new bugs are unfortunate, but I don't think it's quite enough to cause too many people to leave or anything.

They do at work, but I'm just at home right now. Also, if PS4/Xbox don't make those data public by default, I couldn't publish them, either.

That's maybe people trying to even log in/ getting disconnected looking for a game and having to force-close the game, staying in their earlier session.
Right now the game is neigh unplayable to many:
disconnects, crashes, lag, bugs, the aforementioned not being able to get out of the session proper (error 8012 I think?)
I mean, I have seen worse from other companies (*coughEAcough*) but please, please fix this asap. Lots of people are still working on their rift.

Depend the time you play but right now the hook are bug so i see a lot less killer who are willing to play

I really dont think people are leaving in droves from the game and not coming back other than just LEAVING MATCHES and re-Q'ing right away again.
Things are really frustrating right now because of different issues that are going to require some polishing. CrossPlay being EXTREMELY frustrating. Just for the fact that killers are landing more "ILLEGAL HITS" (unfair strikes) on someone whom is on another platform than the killer.
If players are unhappy with "leavers", i'd suggest a person to use "Survive with Friends" until the staff have time to iron out issues to make gameplay more fluid.
- slugging counterplay.
- camping counterplay.
- Distortion perk fixes.
- Killer's map presence for high rank gameplay.
- balancing perks so they aren't OP to new survivors.
- Looking at a Merit based ranking system, so your friendly "leavers" stay in lower ranks and others can move UPwards to their dreams and goals. Since when DC penalties are enabled people use HAX to knock other's connections OUT.
- Hatch closing
- 2-man stand-offs.
- Server Tickrate between platforms and networks.

Indeed, there is a difference between pointing out someone's behaviour - which, as I myself pointed out, is typical of every user on this forum, not only the developers - in a mature and constructive way, and what you did. If 'attack' isn't your preferred word, we can use 'mock' or 'insult', it amounts to the same thing. Point is, we both know that if your intention had been to simply "point out typical behaviour" calmly and respectfully the way you're implying, you wouldn't have been tYpInG LiKe tHiS.

Honestly - with all the stuff that comes out of BHVR, they're at a point where they have to earn my respect back. They get a little of it when they finally come up with a good idea in terms of reworks, or new perks/powers etc, but I don't respect them as a whole (which is not the same as being disrespectful, before you hover over the report button - and there's no rules against sarcasm). I tolerate them. Some of them are great, some of them are so far out of touch it's not even funny; and they KNOW the game is borked. They even poked fun at it on their anniversary loading screens (imagine thinking your own constant supply of botches is funny after 4 years into a games lifespan - it's not a good look). Even most of their PARTNERS, the FOG WHISPERERS are vocal about this very issue on their streams.
When they start doing things for the health of the game instead of pumping out DLC after DLC while leaving bugs rampant for YEARS at times, they will earn the privilege of having mine, and many other fed up community members respect. Skip a new content update and put out a BIG bug fix patch. In the current state the game is in, it SHOULD be listed under "Early Access" on Steam.
When they rectify that, then they get respect.

I think it just depends on the time of day. For me, I'm on EU servers so during the day it's pretty much instant survivor queues and killer is around 5-10 mins but once it hits after 5-6PM, survivor becomes up to 10 minutes, where killer becomes instant. I guess more people enjoy killer more during the day which is understandable because I notice that more SWF tend to play later in the day

As a player myself, I get why people feel that way, but part of the point I'm trying to make is that just because he doesn't reply to posts doesn't mean he doesn't read them. So if people are feeling like a developer not responding to their issues in his free time automatically means that they aren't going to get fixed, perhaps we're the ones who should be tempering our expectations a bit in that regard.

Currently, I have instant Survivor Queues (this is normal around this time of the day) and even my Killer Queues are quite fast. Not instant, but way faster than usual.
So if anything, more players are playing (and playing Survivor) right now.

I haven't been able to play since the silent Hill chapter. I bought it but every time I try I end up waiting 10 to 15 minutes and if I do land a match someone disconnects and it's time to start the waiting game again. So I go play something else my time isn't worthless. As far as I'm concerned dbd has become not worth playing cuz if your wait time could b longer than an actual match something is wrong.

Queue times are fine for me. Let's be honest here, if people who love the game actually left because they personally didn't like the update or something, they seriously need a reality + ego check. Lol.

It feels like less because people were on more during the weekend because of Labor Day.

Peak players on Steam yesterday was the highest it’s been all month (a little under 60k). And personally my queues the last two days have been very quick. So it’s not an issue with people not playing the game. It could be something in your region or maybe just a higher than usual number of players playing killer to try Blight messing up your matchmaking, who knows?

Actually, not doing work related stuff at home (unless you work in a home office) is pretty normal, at least where i life. Do you point out when people breath? Thats typical behaviour for someone alive, too.

The last 2 weeks my survivor queues are 10-15 minutes and as killer my queues are 10-20 seconds

Both killer and survivors are basically instant at certain times (and I don't even have crossplay turned on).
But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised of some players left cause both sides have bugs... Survivors doesn't hear heartbeats (PS4 at least) and killers have this hooks bug which cost me many hooked survivors 🤷🏻♂.

Playing last night I actually got almost instant queues as survivor after playing for about 3 hours straight (which is incredibly unusual). If anything, I've noticed it's better.
My killer queue times seemed about average.

While the update is super broken and noone can deny it, the thread is about a question if people left the game after it or not, we can make a new thread to debate the sheer amount of bugs introduced without derailing other threads.

I have noticed any difference in queue times - but I may just sit this game out for awhile because of all the new bugs and the graphics update kind of alienated me.

Yeah, waiting times are not that fast for me and also most of the lobbies are laggy as hell even tho I have the same ping just like before an update
