This is why ranks don't matter
This is a screenshot from Ohmwrecker's latest match. For those of you unfamiliar with this particular streamer, Ohmwrecker is a rank one killer and survivor, but as you can see he hasn't played in a while.
This is exactly why the MMR system was sorely needed, because no matter which way you look at it, this was a nightmare for everyone involved. Unbeknownst to the survivors they were actually going up against a rank 1 killer, but if Ohmwrecker was indeed a true rank 13, then he would have gotten completely screwed over by those that he was paired up against.
I'm a rank 13 myself and this is what I see every time I play killer, which is what makes playing killer so difficult. And to add insult to injury these new chapters keep introducing more and more bugs. And when you couple that with a poor matchmaking system, it makes DBD unbearable to play. Which is why I'm glad that the devs admitted in today's Q&A that the MMR is coming back soon, and I for one can't wait.

Does rank matter? Yes
Is ranking flawed and not really accurate? Yes, but it does mean something.
The difference between the average red rank and the average grey rank is significant. Enough that I can tell you roughly what rank every player is before we get to the end tally screen and generally I'm pretty accurate.

I didn't mention the mori because he wasn't using it to win, but to test it out.
And personally I side with the devs in that ranks don't represent skill which is why you can't get an accurate match based on ranks alone. Typically rank 13 usually points to a casual player, and Ohwrecker is anything but. Had he been a casual player the survivors he was matched against would have completely walked all over him had he not had that Mori.

from what i know ohm is in dbd since forever (he easly has 2k+ hours) so why wouldnt he get 4k

Just for reference, in the dev Q&A stream this afternoon they specifically said that the new MMR system is definitely coming back sooner rather than later. They said it's still been running in the background collecting game data since they disabled it and it is going to be turned back on at some point, at which time ranks will literally be totally useless until they figure out something else to do with them. (They also said this is the main reason they haven't reallowed killers to change their character in campfire pre-game lobby, they don't want to reenable it only to then have to disable it again in a few weeks or a month or however long, in particular because doing so requires a client side patch each time.)

You have a rank 1 killer who was “testing out” an ebony mori, and clearly tunneled the first person hard. Point invalid.
MMR, rank, whatever, doesn’t matter. This game needs (a) way better servers (b) stable 60 FPS on XB/PS4 and a bare minimum stable 30 FPS on switch (c) bugs fixed (d) much better quality control
i don’t care about anything else.

OhmWrecker is like the original DBD streamer pretty much. He knows the game very well, and he's very good at it. You guys never had a chance, mori or not.

What exactly are you trying to prove? It's laughably easy to get to rank 1. I recently took 3 months off the game and regressed to rank 7. It took me less than 3 hours to get back to rank 1 killer.
Those who have experience and play well can make it to rank 1 easily. It doesn't even mean you're that good, just that you can pip more often than you depip. If you can't make it to rank 1? You may not be as good as your red-ranked competition.
Showing us the end screen of a single match in which a killer mori'd an entire team isn't even evidence. It's just... a picture.

Wow. You.... are toxic af... it is difficult to get to rank 1. Reason? Campy killers. Yea. A KILLER can make rank 1 easily. Just play bubba, put on insidious, and camp the basement. Wow that's amazing. Survivors? You have to be good at manipulating the game into your favor to do that. So no. It's not "easy." Stop belittling people and grow up.

XD considering every survivor rushes the hooked survivor? Yea. I personally watched 2 Bubba's rank after dying from those tactics
