Sooo how long 'til DS is fixed?
Because alot of killers have a free pass to just tunnel through DS as it lasts 1 second, its extremely annoying how this kind of stuff keeps happening.
it being showcased multiple times in Hexy's Touney is a bit sad and embarrassing, imagine if in a Dota TI there was a bug that caused you to die when you used a TP Scroll.

Or it becomes 7 and then they add in further requirements to ensure it remains anti-tunnel and not anti-momentum.

How many bugs have survivors exploited till they fixed them? How many fat shame spots? Remember when one of Quintin's perks provided a action boost to ALL actions instead of just opening gates? Paybacks a ######### :P
It's a bug that benefits killers. We all know that will get fixed shortly. Meanwhile I am still waiting for bug fixes to Nurse introduced from her rework last year -.-

I've never used DS, but I have seen so many killer mains get upset with it. The point of the game is to win lol. So when you get downed and then pass a hard skill check with a short stun, either get them again or go find something else. I have been DS'd before and it's not the end of the world. A good strategy would be waiting for the timer on the perk (assuming they have it on them) or going to gens. I'm not an amazing killer but I main survivor, and every time there is a DS player they have been respectful of the game. I have, however, met some people who teabag after hitting the skill check or use their flashlights which isn't a great strategy lmao

Ok the while I dont condone bug use this bug quite literally let's you delete the survivor in 2 minutes thats not fun nor fair. That's how you kill a playerbase when one side cant even play. Forget the us vs them agenda it's not cool.

My last game I had a Bill that kept running to 1 spot. He ran there because every time I downed him he landed on top of something and made it impossible for me to pick him up. He did this throughout the match. It took like 5 downs before his team stopped healing him and he bled out. So long as survivors continue to use crap like this on me it will remain an "Us vs Them" scenario.
It's not like we haven't had this situation happen before. Remember that brief time enduring worked against DS? This isn't new to me.

Ok that doesnt represent all survivors. When you generalize survivors you continue the circle of hatred. This childish mindset of us vs them needs to stop. Some of the killers are abusing the DS bug currently. Survivors who were caught in the hill were hooked I think I even seen a post of a killer refusing to help. Even after all that I wont generalize killer mains because there are good ones.
It was never brief how long have you been playing? Enduring always worked against DS until that one patch but I was on break then. Also when it did survivors could not get away. I remember seeing a clip of tru3tal3nt getting hit by DS and still managing to down the guy as he was vaulting to escape with enduring.
Back to my main point stop being childish and looking at one person to represent a group.

Lol what are you talking about? If you got DSed it means you tunneled off hook--so three seconds or not, you're probably going to continue to tunnel. Even regular DS only sort of buys a little bit of time in that situation unless it's end-game and you're next to a gate.

If they're hook bombing then go after the unhookers and spread out the pain & eating the DS is not an issue. You WANT to eat the DS before they can use it in end game.

Nevermind the survivors that actively run at you and try to force grabs, do gens in your face with it active, or the situation when you hook somebody else in rapid succession and they try to unhook their friend in your face with BT/DS active.
I'd love to just eat the DS and continue to chase them but if they're even semi competent and have dead hard you'll waste at a minimum, a half a gen worth of time to down them, pick them up, eat the stun, run them down again. Multiplied by 2-3 if people are just going to town on gens.

a 5 second stun on DS gives the survivor 30 second head start. It literally takes the killer 30 seconds to catch up to the survivor if all they do is run in a straight line. Now factor in that they get pallets and windows and can potentially juke the killer and escape, that 5 seconds is a lot of time. If you don't get that much time you are bad.

Killer gets DS'd, survivor gets down in 5 seconds as they cant make any distance, goes down again and dies

People are acting like survivor mains are coding the game, like we put bugs in there to abuse lmao.
Anyways there was a time where DS only lasted 3 seconds (shorter if you had enduring). Now that the perk is an attempt to be an anti tunnel, how is a 3 second stun gonna deter a killer now. All the people who want this bug to be a feature want to tunnel someone without being punished.
I understand gettin hit with DS when you didnt really tunnel is bs. But the fact that you guys wanna tunnel because you arent punished as harshly shows why DS is in the game.

Didn't get fixed with today's hotfix so knowing BHVR, it'll take months.
I can't play the game until then - I tried but I was tunneled every time by the killers the bug was active on.
How can killers complain about DS when they go and do the act that is the reason DS won't be changed? This bug just shows more true colors. If anything, DS should receive a longer stun.

No I'm pretty sure enduring didn't work on DS all the time because I remember juggling and unnerving presence were the only ways to try to counter it. This was back when the obsession could use it anytime and everyone else had to wiggle to 30%. Then they changed it one day so enduring works on ALL stuns instead of just pallets. Then they reworked DS and enduring didn't work on it anymore.
As for killer's abusing the ds bug. I've no doubt some are but there's also a chunk of them that simply don't know DS was up. Often when I get hit by DS it's because someone with it CAME to me. I either forgot they were hooked recently or I didn't feel like counting to 60 in my head. This is my beef with DS. Even if I don't tunnel there are tons of survivors that deliberately get in my face because they have a get out of jail free card. This is not a small minority because it happens pretty much every time I see someone running DS. Even if I don't tunnel I am getting punished by it. This is why I don't run the perk because I feel it is cheap. If you need DS to survive I suggest you either learn to loop, learn to route or have your teammates rescue you at a better time. If the killer is face camping than you've won. Do gens and get out. That killer will get no blood points or pips.

Killers have exploited bugs too. Its both sides so no it's not payback because killers do it too. I could say the same if the stun was ten seconds.

Enduring has always made DS stubs shorter until patch 2.6 go check the wiki. It started being effective to DS as soon as it came out which was 1.2.1.
DS isnt solely an anti tunnel perk. The devs never said it was and they went as far as to say in their original post using it outside of tunneling was smart. The community coined it as anti tunnel thus you went with it and used it as a reason to complain.

True but seeing as how there are 4 survivors to every 1 killer id say survivors have exploited more.
If DS isnt anti tunnel then it is 2nd chance. Which makes it even worse. It rewards bad gameplay. Killer has nothing that gives them an extra generator if they are failing to apply pressure. NOED is not 2nd chance because the survivors can negate it before it ever comes into play. It's more of a punisher perk. Blood Warden could be 2nd chance but any survivor with 2 brain cells 99% the gates to avoid it. Really wish the devs would adjust that.
There's hardly anything that counters DS. "Don't tunnel" doesn't work on most of the people I run into(people coming to me because of DS) If I slug they can use unbreakable. If they run into a locker, unless I'm trapper, there's nothing I can do. If I take the DS then go in to finish the job I am called a tunneler. With this perk there is no right answer. There is also the very VERY real potential of 4 DS's a match. This perk is flat out bad for the game but the devs will never ever truly nerf it because majority of survivors would stop playing the game.

In case anyone is wondering, here is the table for the 3 second DS. I think DS is good at this state.
The point of contact at a 1 second DS is 14.695 sec. Way too fast for DS to be useful.

It's oddly amusing. Every survivor that defends DS, have no idea what it's all about. It was the intention for a break away, that's it.
But no, survivors whined and need that Tea, they need that crutch. Look at why DS came into play. It's Laurie Strode's perk. She has that one "talent" suckpunch stabbing. Might as well been kicked in the nutsac for how DS works. But then you get to abuse it. Survivors got Borrowed Time to work with it. It's not just DS. It 3 Other Perks along with it. But no, Survivors want more. Might as well play in a wheelchair for how many crutches you're given. (Although, I for one would love to see the option to survive while in a wheelchair actually animated into the game)
I recently got into survivor and I reached rank 11 real fast. I solo Que. My main has become Felix. I use Q&Q and Self-Care. With Kindred. I dont bring in items nor search chests. I have always admited in these forums my goal is gens. And i do them pretty damn well, I don't get Great Skill checks but I never pop a gen and make noise. (Pretty proud of that, if i do say so myself). Yea so I'm rank 11 right now. As if ranks matter anyways. But i survive a great deal than die. It's not hard to get gens done. It's not hard to avoid the killer. I have come to see for my self that those who use DS, and combo with whatever, UB, BT, etc. Are mainly the Survivor that's gonna be an asshat. Cocky and Confident. (And their fledgling followers that want to be them.) And if the Devs peg their crutches down a notch. Are the one's defending their perk combo meals.

What do you want me to do, count to 5 in a corner while you run away? It's not "abusing" it, you know it's broken and you're still bringing it. Now try broken hooks, where we can't actually hook people. A thing every killer needs to do, not just ones with certain perks. Or how about completely silent survivors with no iron will?
Killers can't "abuse" this bug because there's no real alternative when you eat a DS except to sit there on purpose like an idiot. No thanks. Don't run it until it's fixed. Try out some other perks.

I don't use nor have a problem with DS so i don't really care if it gets fixed sooner or later
I am kinda hoping it takes a while though. Now we can see if DS is really needed to be able to survive.
So far, survivors I've seen have no real problems with DS being gone. They still do fine, albeit a bit less cocky

Basic math is all.
Survivors move at 100% movement speed which is defined as 4.0 m/s
Most killers move at 115% movement speed which is defined as 4.6 m/s
After you DS, I believe the survivor is animation locked for 1 second. After which they get 4 seconds of movement. During that 4 seconds, they can cover 16 meters before the killer gets to move. Now, if the killer starts chasing them and they both run in a straight line. The killer gains 0.6 m/s. Now factor in lunge range which is 6 meters on every killer. But generally you won't hit them at the very tip, so you'll go for 5 meters. But generally you also are worried about a dead hard, or getting spun and with latency and such it's probably around 4 meters.
16 meters away - 4 meters (lunge range accounting for latency and dealing with dead hard/spins) = 12 meters to cover.
Now do basic math
12 meters / 0.6 meters per second = 20 seconds to catch up and down a survivor
I guess i exaggerated a bit, so it is 20 seconds, but 20 seconds is a damn long time when that means the other 3 survivors can each complete 1/4 of a gen which amounts to 15% of their objective for finishing the generators. Now factor in a whole team having it, that's now 60% of the teams objective done if you get hit with DS 4 times. Now factor in the fact that i am talking about the survivor just running in a straight line and not using windows or pallets.
DS is much stronger than you think.

When I play killer I very rarely get affected by DS as many people claim, it's exaggeration at its peak, and old enduring affecting DS was abused to no ends, since it was barely a 1 sec stun and you could just hit them back as soon as they dropped, killers ain't the victims all the time.

Except no one plays in a perfect world and the other survivors probably spent that 20 seconds with their thumbs in their asses wondering what's going on. I don't use DS, but as a killer it's never impacted me that badly.

I have to ask though are killers really “abusing” it if you know it’s bugged but still run it? Also from experience the stun seems long enough. I have plenty of time to get to a loop and just run them till they give up.
