Faint Breathing From Survivors?

Hello, so I might sound crazy but hear me out. Sometimes when I am playing as survivor and I am in a quiet area, I will hear a really faint sound of a single breath. And I know that it is not me because it sounds like the opposite gender of the character I play. Does this mean that there is a survivor around me?

    You can hear breathing when nothing else is going on. I've found healthy survivors before playing as killer simply by stopping for a second.

    I'm pretty sure it's the character breathing while idle.

    You used to hear breathing but aside from Meg its all basically muted now. Stridor used to reveal it really well but again you can still barely hear it now.
