How many matches have you all lost because of the infuriating hook glitch?
I think I just had my most frustrating one. I'm playing my boy Mikey on Blood Lodge. I have a beautiful three gen situation around the main building. Three survivors left. Two on death hook. I'm running my usual pop. I down Nancy, and have a bit of a walk to the nearest hook. Low and behold when I get to it I cannot hook her.
Thanks to that she wriggles free. I chase her down again, get her on the hook, and just as I hook her that last gen I was hoping to pop with her hook goes. A potential 4k turned into a 2k thanks to that damn glitch!!!

That, I agree is an irritating bug. Another one that should be high on the list of getting fixed.
It's unfair to the killers.

I wouldnt say i lost the entire match because of it, but i already lost tons of survivors because of it.
One survivor didnt run after that tho. <3

one, because i was unaware of it that time.
then i started approaching hooks from a different angle and havent had the problem since.

It's getting fixed in the next few days. It's lost me games on a few times.

i haven't had the problem at all (ps4).
Granted I mostly play survivor, but I have played a fair bit of killer too recently. Only got 1 killer challenge remaining on the Tome 4 rifts.

i havent lost any. when it happens i find backing up until the hook action is out of range and coming back into range helps me hook normally every time

Never lose a game because this bug. I lose some seconds but is compensate by Ds bug

It's absolutely baffling how this ######### hasn't been fixed yet. I just had a game that the players completely took advantage of it (the person would get stuck and not hooked, I'd drop and pick them up and then they would either flashlight save or body block so the person I'm trying to hook wiggles free and so as an aside, ######### YOU to those four players, you ######### cocks).
Like, I'm ######### steaming right now and am highly considering just uninstalling this game and being done. The game is becoming less and less fun and when ######### like this happens, I get a lot angrier and pissed off than I really should. But how this wasn't fixed like....HOURS after it was discovered, let alone weeks now just feels like a big ol ######### You to me as a killer. This is a basic function of the game for the killers and it's utterly crippled right now. It's bad enough when I have to kill a few precious seconds dropping and picking someone up but when survivors are specifically exploiting this ######### is just absolutely game breaking.
I'm sure once I calm down and take the time to reinstall the game, I'll regret these harsh words but right now, BHVR, this is absolutely pathetic and you should be ashamed that this ######### isn't sorted out yet.

Zero, I have not lost a single hook because of the bug. I came close though.
You can fix it by backpeddling/moonwalking from the hook for half a second and then re-approaching from a center angle; which is what I have been doing if it happens.

PS4 doesn’t seem to be too bad with the glitch. I haven’t really ever lost any matches because of it tho.

No one escaped my grasp because of that yet... Also the step back always works.

None so far.
But i'm not here saying that to downplay the bug, i've had multiple times now where it only worked after spamming the button a few times.
If it's not fixed soon, i'm sure i'll get my share of bad luck.

Zero. Though I haven't been playing Killer all that much recently but when I have I haven't really experienced this bug.

Its super fruatrating for sure. I've had it happen every single match since the Blight dropped, usually multiple times in a match.
The first couple days I definitely lost good pressure because of it because they wiggled out but I cant say that it cost me the games I lost. Incredibly frustrating though.
Once I figured out that you can drop them and pick them back up to fix the glitch I've been fine. Even still, I might lose a gen that I could have popped with this method but it's not as bad as having to start another chase due to a bug.
I've tried backing up and trying to rehook them but I guess I'm not getting the angle right or something.
Somebody in the thread said try backing up until the prompt disappears then try again, I'll have to try this tonight, it'll shave a couple seconds off the process.

I think it's a console thing. Have had a few difficult hangs, but haven't yet lost a hook to it.

I can't say I've lost a match to it, but I have lost a lot of time. So, that does factor in.

Currently none have been lost because of that, found a way to not fix it but to make that bug less annoying, look up and hold space instead of tapping it, works for me.

As Blight I've lost more games because of the bug where your power randomly stops you rather than the hook bug. I've found that for the hook bug you need to just stand in front of the hook for a few seconds after the hook prompt pops up and it isn't an issue. Basically it seems like the prompt appears before the actual action is ready and trying to use it resets the process.

If I stop a beat and look down, that usually helps me.
When I play survivor, I stop struggling once I’m in hook range.

Now I don't know how closely BHVR monitors these things. We see the devs pop into threads every so often but who knows how much they actually follow discussions outside of the obvious easy ones where they don't need to answer tough questions...so it's likely BHVR will not ever see my follow-up message but I'm going to type it out anyway for my own sake.
I really do enjoy this game. I wouldn't subject myself to all the garbage (the bugs, toxic players, boring games when people just want to farm but neglected to tell anyone, the bugs, balance issues, did I mention the bugs yet?) if I didn't really enjoy the game. But it's becoming harder and harder to justify coming back when issues like this keep happening (and I've only been playing since February, I can't imagine someone from before then at least based on what I've heard sticking around for so long).
I'm just one person (who doesn't even buy cosmetics, though I do buy the DLC and I bought the Battlepass or whatever we call it here, though only once because I play often enough to easily get the money back to buy it again) so who cares but I can't imagine I'm the only one thinking like this at this point. Please BHVR, for your sake and for mine because I really do (mostly) enjoy this game, sort your ish out. Please. 😭

Why didn't the survivor quit struggling? I mean, some of them expect the killer to take the DS and stand still for 5 seconds if they are using a killer that's bugged. How dare one side take advantage of bugs

What usually do is when the glitch happens I don't drop the Survivor I usually back away from it then walk to the hook again then it works for me.
