To the people complaining about the dev's choices in the last 8 months
You realize that we're in quarantine, right?
Good.

And yet they've been able to do so many things normally as if we weren't in quarantine such as creating chapters and making cosmetics.

Yes, but that's taking up all their time.
They can't fix bugs and do all that at the same time.
1 -
You know they have the option to dedicate a chapter to bug fixes and balance issues but they said no.
18 -
Well they can't be perfect I guess

My point is they had the option to dedicate time to balance and bug fixes due to the fact we are in quarantine, they said no. They still have that option if they need it though. I do agree dev's aren't perfect and they will do the right thing when the time comes I hope

It is a software company. Depending on how they were structured before it can take time to set up for remote work. But that should right now not be of any hinderence in their everyday work anymore. And I'm not sure what exactly you target. Bad perk buffs are ok because we are in quarantine?
Btw we are not. The restrictions are in many places getting loose rather than hardened. Not sure about Canada though

Well then you have to question how they're using their resources.
2 -
They have time to work on maps but not to rework the problematic parts of the game?
1 -
I never said anything about bad perk buffs.
However, cut them some slack with the bugs.
pretty much.

In quarantine? We had none of that here. Lockdowns is something we read in papers that China and UK had. The whole world does not live in those countries you know.
0 -
where do you live then?
I live in the U.S. If you do too, just because some idiots on instagram go outside doesn't mean we aren't in quarantine.

I'm in the us and everything is open like normal where I am and I have to go to work everyday just like it wasn't here anyway, maybe it's a quarantine where you are but it's definitely not that way all over the US, also everything the devs do can be done virtually it's no different than going to work normally the only difference is there's no co-workers during break

The problem is that the funding all goes towards the art and cosmetic department. For a game with this much stuff in it we need more than 2 balance devs but that is all we have.
They also seem to work on things that nobody complains about and make nonsensical decisions all while the same perks and killers are being complained about day in and day out.
They also have players with thousands of hours who have a direct line of communication with them that they blatantly ignore for reasons that nobody can figure out.
Updates to balance are literally glacial for a live service game and need to be frequently updated on pc while consoles can get the results in the chapter updates if that is what is holding them back.
Nobody would complain if the dev's frequently tried things while being willing to revert the change if it is bad. At least the comunity would see things are being done instead of nothing.

I'm not sure what your point is. How does that affect their decision making?
1 -
implying devs worked especially fast prior to covid
0 -
How does that matter? If anything, that just makes them look worse. You're stuck indoors at work, no distractions, should have plenty of time and a stable environment to think things through. Yeesh, what kind of logic are you operating on?
2 -
It's a lot harder to coordinate when everyone's stuck in their homes.

Chief ima have to disagree with you on this one.

That has nothing to do with it. The dev's have always made stupid decisions. You realize that right? Good.

I'm sorry, but there's no defending the devs for me at this point. Yes, the quarantine has messed up a LOT of gaming and delayed a lot of things, but I'm going to give you a prime example here. Final Fantasy 14, the online MMO was due to release a patch for it's newest DLC Shadowbringers. The whole pandemic hit when it was due to release. So, do you think the devs of FF14 decided, meh, let's just throw it out, we'll fix it later. No, they announced to the entire community that it was to be delayed because of the working from home issue and that they wanted to release it in a fixed state. Yes, you can argue that Square Enix is a huge company, but the fact stands, they WAITED to release their content, despite it being delayed for months before it did release so they could make sure it was working correctly. So what's the devs excuse? They could have easily said 'Ok, so we gotta delay this upcoming DLC/Patch due to issues' but no. They didn't. They continue to rush patches and DLC out the door. How many in this community have said repeatedly that we would be perfectly happy to have a delay on DLC or patches if it meant we get a fix to the issues. So, not to be rude, but get off your high horse for BHVR because their actions have spoken loud and clear to many in this community.

The devs been making decisions like this for years. The pandemic didn't affect that. Also, there are developers who have done more than BHVR during the pandemic without many problems.

They've made worse changed when not in quarantine.
Hey everyone, remember "Fixed a bug where flashlights blinds wouldnt cause a save at any point in the animations"? Best bug fix ever!
Or where they removed needing to time pallet saves making any down in a pallet an eternal free save?

I think things would have been the same even without quarentine.
If you look at the last 4 years of this game and BHVR you know how it is.

Don't make excuses for the devs. They are perfectly capable of doing that for themselves.
