Wraith Tips?
Trying out a new killer, particularly when you're in the 12 rank area is a pain. Any types for Wraith?

I often pretend to uncloak myself completely to let them waste their sprint burst or let them drop a pallet earlier.

"Windstorm" Add-ons are your best friends, but don't underestimate the post-uncloak phase without those Add-ons, that speed CAN catch up to Survivors timing their Sprint Burst with your uncloak.
Obviously, one of his greatest weaknesses is to be seen from far away, so DO use obstacles to your advantage.
Start the uncloak around corners, they didn't put the ringing of the Wailing Bell at the end of the animation for nothing.
Since M1 is his only way to deal damage, try to strengthen that: "Blind Warrior" - White's a pretty good Add-on, Save The Best For Last is a good friend of his, Make Your Choice can be very snowball-like, Sloppy Butcher for when you want a different Add-on than "Blind Warrior" - White, and more i can't think of right now.
I probably got way more tips, but that's all i can think of for now (tired).
Also, these are just tips from my perspective, others might not like some of my tips, and that's fine: Listen to all tips, and find out what works for you.
For instance, Wraith can be quite good with a hit-and-run tactic, but i prefer to get Survivors down when i find them, and it works often enough for me to continue to do so.

I'll never stress enough to learn to bodyblock with Wraith. It's really important that you learn that aspect to improve your Wraith Gameplay 🙂

It's funny when you do that, especially easy with a "Windstorm".
They mostly need to take half a second to realize why they're not moving forward anymore.

Don't try to win when you play a new killer.
Learn his power first and level him up.
A classic good build for Wraith is Sloppy butcher, Nurses calling, Pop, Corrupt. If you want BBQ for blood points, take off the perk you want.
Good add ons for Wraith starters are All seeing Blood and Coxcombed clapper (silent bell).

Majority of wraith players will tell you to go for a hit and run playstyle, and swear by using sloppy and nurses.
Fuck all that noise, speed wraith is where it's at.
Run double windstorm and endfury and BBQ, find survivor, uncloak and get a free hit. Recloak, catch up to the injured survivor and either try to body block or zone them into a better area and try to down them quickly. Depending on the loop and if you can use his super lunge well (if you begin your lunge a fraction of a second after you come out of cloak, you get a huge burst of speed) you can hit survivors around the short loops if you mindgame it correctly.
Basically this playstyle is: slam your face into every pallet and down people quick enough before you lose, and I kinda enjoy it on Wraith. A playstyle like this is also fun on Freddy (I wish Freddy players would actually play more aggressively than stack gen perks which would actually be pretty fun but that's a different topic)

Wind storm and the clapper addons dont chase unless there is no pallets near by and nurses calling all very good on him

His major weakness is chasing one person too long. If you don't have anti-loop, or anti-pallet, it becomes a slog chasing one person. That's when all the gens start to pop. So consider that a cardinal sin. You can try to fake them out by cloaking then standing still ( complete invisibility) to see if they get themselves into a better position. Otherwise abandon chase to patrol gens.
His add-ons are all useful in some way except for the uncloak speed ones (horrendously slow even stacked) and The Beast which is for novelty builds anyways.
Bone Clapper can be uses to fake out survivors while traveling between objectives. Might get a slip up if they think you're nearby. And if you do it often enough, they'll let their guard down. Could be paired with ghost to make them even more paranoid.
Silent bell + All Seeing (both versions) can be a powerful gen defense tool. Or either one paired with the ghost can make an effective ambush build. Just need to uncloak sooner if not using it with Silent Bell.
Shadow Dance + The Serpent can be useful for aggresively destroying pallets or kicking gens then going straight back into attack mode. Pair with complimentary perks like Brutal Strength or Bamboozle.
I plan on P3'ing him after getting rid of all the anniversary cakes I have on him (30+) but he has so many potential builds.
Ps: Distressing is a funny perk to put on him too. Massive TR that just disappears.

Thanks everyone. It will take a while for me to figure him out. I main Legion, so this is completely different.

They play somewhat similarly in my experience in that first hits are important, and so is the following chase. Also both are rated very low by the community from their difficulty. But with the right perks, they're a handful.
Though a major disadvantage Wraith has is he doesn't have a secondary action to injure the obsession with so Stbfl stacks would disappear if you choose to engage them. I usually try to keep the obsession injured to hide the fact I'm using Obsession perks.

To me Wraith's main strength is that because he's so hard to see while cloaked and moves faster than normal he can use that to get much closer to a survivor and either ambush or body block them to get a quick hit before they can get to safety. Once he's visible he's a vanilla 115% killer so you definitely don't want to spend a lot of time visibly chasing survivors if you can help it because it's less time efficient than getting close to a survivor who's not too near a safe spot and getting a hit in before they reach it. Obviously if it looks like the person you hit is going to be an easy chase then sure, down them, why not? But if it looks like they'll make you spend a really long time in a chase just break off and ambush someone else. After all, with you stealth and speed you can cover a wider area of the map to help you pressure multiple survivors simultaneously.
There's actually more than one way to go with his add-ons I think. The most popular is using one of his bell add-ons to make it harder for survivors to tell where and when you are uncloaking. But even without that you can, for example, use his cloaked movement speed add-ons for better map mobility. You can even use those if you want to be more of a "tunneling" Wraith, cloaking and chasing down survivors you've recently injured and relying more on your speed than your stealth. (If you do go that route Bloodhound is actually a pretty decent perk for it too, it's difficult to lose a survivor you've injured with Bloodhound since it works even if they are crouching around.)
I think a couple of things to watch for would be:
- Remember that if you're moving you're not actually invisible, you're just harder to see. So do still use terrain and obstacles to hide your movement if you're trying to sneak up on survivors.
- Spine Chill is a fairly common perk. Just assume that every survivor has it and play accordingly. Don't look directly at the place you're trying to sneak up on, look off to the side instead. That will help keep the Spine Chill from activating too early and giving them a big early warning to run away before you get there. And in general looking around as you move versus just looking straight ahead can help give you better awareness of other things going on nearby so it's probably a good habit to be in regardless. (Obviously you have to kind of watch where you're going but just be aware that the longer you stare at where you're going the more likely it is a survivor with Spine Chill will just run away.)

Dont use your power in chase. Use only when you are not in chase.
