Tunel vision bad or not?

I just had a game against Pyramid Head where i was found first and... after a little chase downed and hooked... Unhooked... downed again with a RoJ so unhooker was injured too... hooked agian (we had no obsession so no one had DS)... and unhooked again but with another survivor... and that's where the fun began - PH was chasing me so hard... that i wasted evey single pallet... was in every corner of map... used and abuse evey single trick i know starting with a pallet looping and ending with a 360... so from the begining of game (5 gens) and till EGC he was chasing me... and finaly killed (final jujment) me after everyone escaped...

And thats my build durning this match

Tuneling is indeed a good way to remove a survivor from the game... but when everything goes way too long - is it worhit? I did get a pip that game... i did get 14K of blood points... killer even more

I did few mistakes... killer did alot of mistakes. but defenetly was not a newby - all my tricks did't work at the begining of the game, but his tricks worked out fine - and that's why i was downed at the begining of the game.

I don't know what changed after "point of no return" - but he started to do alot of mistakes

I'm not saying that he was a bad guy... we did had a nice conversation where he praised my skill and i praised his skills... unlike my fellow teammates that was blaming him a tuneller.

What the point of this post? Simple - I was exhausted after that game - (not every game you run a PH for 5 gens just to die) Just like a PH him self - neither of us enjoud this game

Me - i more like stealth and avoid chases

Him - he did nothing but chase me for the game

And was it a good game? I don't know. Nobody will ever know now

    Tunnel vision is bad... mmmmkay?

frankly though from the kiler perspective this comes down to the sum cost falacy. it's the same thing that drives gamblers, bad investments, bad relationships, etc.... they have already spent x amount of their resources (time) chasing you that they felt it would be a waste to give up. against a good looper it's a great way to lose a game and the single most effective mind game in DBD

having a tunnelvision on one target will leave the other 3 with nothing better to do, so they'll be working on gens.

if the one being tunneled is good at chases (and the others actually go and do gens and dont sit around the edges of the map doing absolutely nothing like my teammates usually do), the killer will lose the trial.

then on the other hand, if at least one of these factors isnt given, tunneling can easily win them the trial aswell.

    conclusion:

tunneling destroys teams that are not well coordinated (alias solo teams) but is highly ineffective against coordinated teams (alias SWF).

All depends on who is being chased. If you can run a killer for 5 gens, he is wasting his time and will probably lose.

If you can run a killer for 5 seconds, well, you are the weakest link....goodbye!
