How can I get even matches again?
Me and 2 friends got into this game a month ago and having been LOVING it. However over the last 2 evenings we ranked up to 7 and all of a sudden we’ve been playing killers that are considerably better than us. And I mean we get wiped on 4 generators etc. I reckon that’s honestly been the case in 9 out of our last 10 matches.
I looked into the matchmaking system and apparently rank has nothing to do with it (although every red rank killer I’ve played has been an absolute beast). So is there some way we can quickly drop ourselves back down to the casual level? It’s just 3 friends with a random that want a bit a chase, a bit of jeapardy and it’s a bonus if we do some hero stunts on the way and get out!

Just keep playing and it'll eventually even out. Have lots of fun!

If you happen to get the gates open, just dont leave, but instead get yourself killed, either by the killer or endgame collapse.
Edit: Try to avoid playing during the evening or night. When less people are playing, the matchmaking tends to go a little crazy.

Your note on late night is hopefully the reason. We played later than usual the last two nights so I’m hoping that’s what it is!
Also how the hell do I avoid leather faces chainsaw?! He’s the only killer we always get bodied by (when matchmaking is fair).

Don't greed pallets; just drop them and run. Windows are your best friend, you can vault them 3 times and there's nothing he can do about it. When he starts the sweep, count to 6- it'll then be over and it takes 12 seconds to recharge to full. Abuse distance; if you see him coming book it in the opposite direction. If you're caught in the open, abuse his hitbox and run around debris or something and hug that ######### tighter than you'd hug a loved one. Don't try a fancy spin and don't try and do anything stupid like run into him because you will be sawed.

If the Leatherface is inexperienced, running tightly around objects can help. Leatherface's chainsaw hitbox is very generous, so its easy for the killer player to bump into them and enter tantrum (a very long cooldown, where he can barely move).
If the Leatherface is experienced, pallets and windows are your only option. Attempt to go for windows if possible, since Leatherface can chew through pallets quickly. However don't be afraid to play safe if you are forced to, with the right addons Leatherface's chainsaw sweep can reach very far (he can even catch up to a Sprintbursting survivor, be aware of that).
In general you want to force Leatherface to hit you with his hammer.

Wait for that illusive promissed MMR system to make a comeback, supposedly its currently still learning in the background, so it SHOULD be keeping track of you getting owned hence later on it should not match you up against those killers for a while until you get better.
But when the MMR system returns nad if it will be any good, nobody knows.
