Object of Obsession makes me not play Myers
I hate Object so much. It completely takes the fun out of Myers who is one of my favorites. I don't even want to play him now. Sucks.

M1 killer fun?

I’m confused? If your Myers object doesn’t really effect you at all till later in the game if at all.
7 -
Object hurts him particularly bad. Object is so busted against so many Killers, it´s insane. Ask Trapper, for example. It´s the must unfun thing in DBD imo.
15 -
as soon as you hit tier 2, which is like, your first objective in a game as myers with most of his addons, so the first 1/4 of the match 95% of games.
12 -
memento mori, iri hatches and infinites want to talk with you
3 -
Nice whataboutism. the thread is about OoO, or by extension, survivor perks. Bringing mori, killer addons and map layout into the discussion serves no purpose here.
21 -
Really? I can understand set-up killers like Hag and Trapper, but Meyers? Not really. Chances are you'll see them long before they see you cuz they can't see you when you're still in t1, so it gives you a head start if anything. And if you're running a scratched mirror, they're a free kill.
If it's bothering you, try to get Tinkerer and Trail of Torment for the undetectable effect. Kills Object.

He said that ooo is the most unfun thing in dbd, it wasn't whataboutisim, I just said that there are way more unfun things.
1 -
Yeah no dont being that up. Those are all getting changed. OoO is extremely busted on myers. I know I main the perk.
2 -
If you see OoO early on as Myers, you at least have the option to stay in T1 at least. If you see it on most other killers there's nothing you can do about it.
0 -
Why is Myers the example all killers for the most part are effected by object? He is one that is effected less though.
0 -
OoO and houses make me not play killer.
0 -
He is only less affected in T1. Admittedly a neat upside to an otherwise horrible place to be in, yet in T2 his small terror radius makes him even more vulnerable to Object.
They can talk all they want, in my opinion (imo) Object is still the worst dbd has to offer in that regard.
5 -
Oh yeah yeah my bad I forgot it goes that way with object I was being stupid and thinking it went the other way. Also ignore the dumb whataboutism people. They too stupid to admit both sides have issues not just their side.
3 -
Glad I could clear that up.
I wouldn´t say they´re dumb, it seems to be just a bad habit that the community has developed, myself included propably.
0 -
okay so hardcore tunneling and camping.
1 -
I personally haven't run into it myself other than once, (the second time both OoO users DC'd when they saw I ignored them) and during that first time I was guarding a 3 gen so OoO wouldn't have helped all that much
0 -
If you see an OoO user, try to delay going out of T1 EW. They can see you with OoO until you’re in T2. You might be able to get them on a hook first. Then maybe camp them out if the game.
And theres also Hex: The Third Seal if you’re that bothered by OoO.
0 -
It’s still a pointless thing to add.
- its not what the discussion is about.
- It provides nothing helpful to the OP about their dilemma.
6 -
True it’s a very bad habit tho because nothing gets fixed that way
1 -
How often do you really face OoO?
I agree that OoO has to be reworked, and is way too OP for SWFs, but come on. OoOs are so rare that you really don't have anything to worry about. Go play Myers whenever you like.
2 -
This I agree with. I'm more worried about being gen rushed than getting an OoO
2 -
I love how people started to use whataboutisim after thier favourite dbd streamer used it in very specific way
3 -
Spine Chill makes me not play Myers. I don't even need to worry about Object because that stupid Perk ensures I'll be in tier 1 for at least 3 gens.
2 -
I'm not sure I understand why? Michael Myers is the least affected of all Killers by OoO. He starts the game in Tier-1 and his aura is invisible to the OoO by default. All they get is a flash on their HUD when you look their direction. They can't see you or effectively evade you. If you wanted you could tunnel the OoO out of the game with ease. Their Perk is essentially a 5th Perk for you, not them. If you are play Spooky Myers you will have the awesome invisible aura all match. I absolutely love pulling OoO people who are spotters for their SWF. They lead me directly to the entire team.

I don’t think you know what whataboutism is. The phrase “most unfun thing in the game” means bringing up other unfun things one believes to be more unfun is valid and not whataboutism. Like I know Scott Jund said whataboutism is bad. That doesn’t make everything whataboutism.
3 -
"most unfun thing in the game *imo*" at least quote it right. It was clearly about a personal opinion, so retorting "but what about moris" serves no purpose other than making a fuss about other unfun stuff ...
1 -
It’s still not whataboutism. Leaving out the imo doesn’t change the fact that it’s still inviting discourse about what others view as more unfun. If people don’t want people bringing up other unfun things don’t claim that something is the most unfun. Say “I believe this is bad for the game and unfun.” Then if someone brings up something else it’s whataboutism.
1 -
Nobody asked for other unfun stuff! The poster wrote about OoO being most unfun when playing trapper in HIS OPINION. The replier totally ignored anything about that, but just wrote "but what about moris" (paraphrased).
If the replier had wrote something like "Yes OoO sucks against trapper, but in general moris are more unfun, imo.", that would be totally fine! But that didn't happen, all the replier answered was "memento mori, iri hatches and infinites want to talk with you". Totally ignoring/disregarding anything the poster wrote, bc the mentioned stuff is obviously so much more unfun (guessing the intention here).
Honestly I don't care if it's a legit whataboutism or not, it looked like one for me, thats why I wrote that back. Fell free to continue nit-picking whether it's whataboutism or not, but I couldn't care less and won't engage in this any further. I think I made my point clear enough.
0 -
guess what. It still isn’t whataboutism lmao
1 -
you don't use pwyf and stbfl on him? With an OoO user, it's free stacks for days.
Edit: The Obsession basically makes the game twice as hard for all the other survivors if the obsession is using OoO aggressively.
1 -
Didn't bother reading the entire thread but I fail to see how Object is something that makes you stop playing Myers and not other killers..
Especially considering how rarely I ever run into people actually using the perk.
1 -
can object see a cloaked wraith or a cloaked ghostface? (undetectable status effect?)
0 -
But does it make you not play freddy? I honestly feel bad when my killer is freddy because they don't stand a chance.
0 -
I main Myers and rarely get object players. Even if I do they are not more of a hassle than they are for most killers.
0 -
Uh... the second you get out of EW1 you'll have a maximum of 16 meters where an Object user wont be able to see you coming from. It decimates him and Ghostface to a lesser degree.
0 -
They've never looped a Tier 1 myers around a rock for 3+ minutes while he desperately tries to stalk you for a split second at every turn.
0 -
Probably because no competent Myers player would do that.
0 -
@Kolonite gosh THANK YOU, I've argued with multiple people about their new favorite buzzword so many times before. Everyone is obsessed with that word without even ever having looked up the actual definition. To them it means "I complained about thing. You bring up other thing [in relevant fashion]. WHATABOUTISM!!!" LOL
1 -
Depends how desperate they get. Often times its still smarter than leaving to find someone else. A lot of Micheals can lose a gen before they find their first player on bigger maps and panic.
I still think the speed loss of EW1 needs to be removed. Its so outdated. Survivors are better now.
0 -
Yes, I do... and yes I am. I play Michael Myers exclusively until I feel competent. I can honestly say that not one OoO has gotten out of a match alive with me, and every single person (and their teammates) has regretted them bringing it. His speed 105% (also can be augmented by PWYF) is more than adequate to catch people, particularly when you can see them and they can't see you.
0 -
That goes for most of the killers who are in the same boat as Mikey and have no real map mobility. Very easy to lose a gen on big maps before you have even hit someone. I can't remember the last time I went to Ormond, Red Forest etc and a gen didn't pop long before someone went down.
A competent Myers knows not to waste their tier 1 time on a pointless chase that is giving them nothing. You are throwing the match if you do.
0 -
Often times its not even a chase. Im watching them over a short wall and the game is just like 'nope'. I cant count the amount of times stalk hasnt even registered since the Server changes. Sometimes it straight up regresses.
I still dont understand why Ghostface's stalk is a flat speed from any distance but Micheal is massively punished for not being up close to the target. As someone who bought this game for Mikey way back when it just feels so boring to play him now. He needs love from the devs.
Ghostface is just better in every way. No crap early game, better stalk, can 99% stalk multiple players.
Is Micheal the only killer that straight up hasnt been changed forthe longest time? I dont really count that awful spine chill buff.
Just realised I'm going off on a tangent about MM again and derailing a thread.
Yeah OoO is by far the strongest perk in the game when a SWF is in play. I think its a good risk/reward perk for solos but my god is the game just anti-fun when a swf has it.
0 -
Then you're watching some very poor Myers players. Mikey's early game is his weakest part, but unless you are facing super immersed survivors (which means they are not doing gens) then its not hard to get to tier 2.
I haven't struggled with it since I was a baby Mikey. The introduction of corrupt has made early game Mikey a lot better for me, too. Though I think corrupt in general is a great perk for killers in the age of the gen rush.

I'm sure we can put together a custom game sometime. And I'm sure there must be some people who have played against my Spooky Myers that read here, and could chime in. To be honest, I've come to prefer Spooky Myers over Maniac Myers. I really get a rush out of earning a 3-4K on a McMillian or Cold Wind Farms map. Rotten Fields is my Mt. Everest; that is the only Cold Winds Farm I can't seem to win with Spooky Myers.
0 -
True. Corrupt is definitely far superior to ruin/undying for early game set up killers. I dont watch any mikeys. He doesnt have a particularly high skill ceiling anyway. Its more luck/spawn knowledge about the early game, after that hes just an M1 killer that can skip a hit.
I wish he had something more, some deeper mechanics. I feel like hes just outdated compared to new killers.
Bigger maps and better perks came out that just made him less viable. Not to mention survivors just adapt anytime they get a major nerf anyway (no longer healing and just picking dead hard, for example).
0 -
T1 is a disadvantage for Myers.
In tier 2 and 3, Survivors can tell when he's stalking and starve him.
0 -
T1 has advantages as well as disadvantages. If you are close enough to stalk someone, you're too close for object to function. It has a minimum range.
1 -
Myers is slow in tier 1, he can't bloodlust, AND he has no lunge. His ONLY advantage is being undetectable. And even then he's an abnormally tall man in a bright white mask.
2 -
The ironic thing about this thread is that the Obsession mechanic and Object of Obsession were introduced in the Halloween chapter with Michael and Laurie. The whole theme of Obsessions and a survivor being the Object of Obsession started with Michael.
