Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

What's your biggest noob moment?

We all were brand new to this game at one point and between the gameplay mechanics, perk builds and killer specific looping strats; we've all had our noob moments. What's the one that makes you laugh the hardest in hindsight? I'll share mine.

It took me about 5 matches to figure out why I couldn't dead hard when also running sprint burst πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

When I started I used to be chase-averse and urban evasion used to be called urban immersion because people would stay off gens and just hide while crouch walking across the map. I was one of those people when I was new.

I did not understand why people would make fun of me in post game chat. Surviving is important right?

Why are my blood points lower than everyone elses?

    Oh.

I remember thinking that unrelenting was "an OP perk" also my most noob thing that I have done when I started was instant tunneling, I still have those vids, they were really embarrassing.

Putting the pallet down while I'm on the same side as the killer. I still do that on accident sometimes. One of the most embarrassing things I've ever done as survivor.

Back when I first started playing, Deathslinger was just recently released.

I mained Wraith out the gate, and had fun hiding around the hook, whacking those pesky Survivors with my trusty whacking stick when they got close to my prey.

I later learned that this was toxic AF, and soon got better perks, learned better strategies, and invested time into killers beyond Wraith, so I could learn how to play.

At the beginning of a match a accidentally set of the firecracker I brought with me. Not only did I manage to blind myself, but probably also some of my teammates while alerting the killer of our location. Shortly after Leatherface appeared and downed all four of us in a matter of seconds. I'm glad I was playing on PS, sparing me the embarrasment of the postgame-chat :(

Not long after I'd started playing, I'm with my friend on an old Badham map, facing off against a Wraith. One of the other two survivors is dead, I'm on the hook in struggle mode, and my friend has just been downed. Here comes an injured Laurie running to save me, Wraith in tow. She could have let us die and looked for the hatch, but she's trying to make a play to keep us all in the game.

She pulls me off the hook just as the Wraith is uncloaking nearby. We take off running for our lives. I had -- and still have at times -- a bad habit of not looking behind me when running. The music is pounding, and I sense the Wraith is right behind me. I head for a pallet and slam it.

As I drop the pallet, I finally turned to realize that I slammed it right on the Laurie, who was ALSO behind me, and between me and the Wraith, who probably dropped their controller laughing at my display of "teamwork".

Laurie immediately gets downed, the Wraith catches up to me and finishes me off as my friend is dying laughing (and dying on the ground). We all get hooked -- game over.

I still shake my head at that one. Stun the killer with a pallet in a chase? Yeah, that might be a problem for me to pull off. Stun your fellow survivor that saved you and get them killed? Not an issue!

This is probably not really a noob moment but it kinda gives me the same feeling:

Everytime I am about to down a survivor and then accidently blink into the basement. Feels bad man.

Dropping a pallet and vaulting right back over it in front of the killer. I did that a few times when I first started playing.

I use to shine the flashlight around thinking it was supposed to work like a regular one.

Then question why it dies so fast.

I didn't know how to fast vault for the longest time. And at this time I mostly played Feng Min, who has a perk that requires you to fast vault.

I'm also fairly certain I committed to chases way too much.

My noob moment still occurs sometimes despite my playtime. When I'm playing killer and I try to mind game someone it sometimes backfires. Sometimes when a survivor runs behind a wall near a pallet loop I walk backwards to try to catch them off guard. It turns out that survivor just kept running away. When I try to mind game sometimes the survivor doesn't even attempt to loop and just keeps running. This ends up giving them more distance because I thought they were looping.

Don't feel bad, survivors doing that is how I recommend to beat a red rank spirit since Spirits expect mindgames from high rank players. They'll start a phase and go to where they expect you to be, but no. You rank 20'd them and are on the other side of the map now. Commence self care in the corner. Easy win.

I had to change my fast vault in the options to 'R' because my character would just waddle over the vault otherwise because everything was bound to space bar. That one got me downed a few times.

Two big moments from when I first started.

For about the first couple weeks or so I didn't know you could just heal other survivors. I thought you needed a medkit. I'm pretty sure I made a lot of people mad with that one.

I also didn't know skill checks made noise so I was basically playing with max huntress lullaby for a about a month.

This is probably my noobiest moment I have recorded. What makes it better is I was probably devotion 4 at the time.

Sir im going to have to ask you to hand over your devotion, because i have done something similar

Basically i threw a pallet sandbagged my teammate and then vaulted the pallet to get grabbed, then i get downed after i was unhooked and missed ds
