Can I combine two existing accounts with cross progression?
I have a lot of characters and cosmetics on both PC and Xbox and was wondering if cross progression can combine accounts or only use the same account on a different platform?

You can combine one steam account with one stadia account. Switch will be included shortly.
xbox and ps are not supported and may actually never be. BHVR tries to get them in though.

It is currently only possible between Stadia, Switch (soontm) and Steam.

Yeah I knew that but I figured since it sounded like Behavior has plans to do it for console it'd be worth asking how it works. So does it actually COMBINE two accounts or can it only carry over one account?

It merges two accounts.
it doesn’t merge platform specific content or licenses like Nightmare on Elmstreet for Switch.
character Progression will take the highest one (prestige) but I think it should merge items and addons

Wow, I've got to hand it to Behavior, I never expected to ever see fully merged cross progression. If it does show up on console (which it sounds like it very well might) I gotta give them props.

I mean, it pretty much depends on Sony and Microsoft now, the tech seems to be here and should be easily translated.
there are currently problems with friendlists getting deleted after a merge, but other than that I didn’t read about major problems..

I forgot Switch earlier (soontm). It's why you create a account, your progress is being merged basically.
"In order to achieve a good transition, we had to build a brand new ecosystem. Players will have to create a Behaviour Account to link their progression, so our server can merge it."
Once you have gone through these steps and you log back into the game, you will be able to keep your characters’ progression and use all the DLCs and outfits you previously purchased or unlocked, whether through Steam or Stadia. In case the characters have two different progressions, the higher level will be kept.
However, depending on your platform, if a DLC is not available on one platform, the DLC won't be available even with crossplay.
