New hook exploit?
Just had a match where I downed two survivors right next to a hook (thank you mad grit). I hooked one while the other positioned themselves on the ground behind the hooked survivor at the base of the hook, where it was impossible for me to pick them up.
Please tell me this isn't intended and will be fixed. I will throw the game for people like this and face camp them until they die. They want to be close to the hook, I'll make sure they spend as much time on it.

I haven't heard anything about it, but it is statistically better for you to leave them.
Unless they have Unbreakable, that will be three people not doing gens, since on of them has to pick the guy up off the ground. It IS really annoying, but yeah, leave them and pressure the others.

If you throw the match and go out of your way to make sure they don't get off the hook, aren't you likely giving them what they want? And it's not like it's such a big deal anyway, they're on the ground unable to do anything while someone else is on the hook. It might be annoying, sure, but it's not something to throw the game over.

Not an intended thing.
Whether it'll be fixed or not... 🤷♂️

It's been in the game for as long as I can remember. Not exactly fair, not exactly balanced, but not exactly going away any time soon.

I don't care to play Killer competitively anymore, its too stressful for me. I rather play for fun and to meme around with potato Survivors and make Davids repeatedly scream with my Doctor. I usually over do it with the screaming let everyone go after two hooking them and let them farm a bit. But my niceness ends when someone wants to be a turd.

It's a bit of an older exploit, and I don't think it can be easily fixed unless the hook mechanics/models as such get altered to not allow to crawl under them.
Putting him on a little hill/pedestal might work? Could also work against bodyblocking the hook, maybe?

Not sure how "new" this is, but yes, this exploit exists.

It is to me, I have never encountered it

"I will throw the game for people like this and face camp them until they die."
You can and should do this. That downed survivor means you're not losing Chaser emblems, and you effectively have 2 dead doing that. It's their own mistake for doing it.

This is an exploit and is repotable. Take video/screenshots of your games (Geforce Experience has built in hotkeys for grabbing the last little bit of footage, so do consoles), and submit a report at https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us - make sure you file an in-game report on them for exploiting and in the report you'll need their Steam ID64/gamertag. Like all exploits, this is bannable.

Is it really an exploit though? If they wanna sit under a hook that's fine by me. I effectively have 2 people hooked in the same spot and can camp them to death without having to keep track of a slug. What's the problem?

Not so much an exploit, but the best tactic if you want the killer to hate you and want you dead. Maybe even the other survivors as it forces them to come over to attempt an unhook.

It's been in the game a long time, but it's still an exploit, report them.

Take advantage of it pressure another survivor. If he has unbreakable he either wastes it and can be slugged later or someone comes saving both of them meaning you have time to kick gens and hook another as they heal for probably 20 seconds befire they A start a new gen and the 2 saved stack meaning less efficient anf the other goes back to gen they were at. Regardless its free pressure

That and unbreakable/soul guard is super annoying

Has been in the game for ages. But I dont mind, if they give me a reason to stay there, I will, two people not on Gens instead of one.
And whoever is doing that is basically killing their team. So if someone is so selfish to say "Hahaha, Killer cant pick me up!!" and decides to stay there for up to two minutes, they might not be suitable for Onlinegames.

It's an annoying exploit but if somebody does it they're basically just giving me a free pass to facecamp the poor soul.
Oh and rest assured if the person on the hook dies whoever tried that little stunt is definitely getting themselves Facecamped and tunneled as well

I've had a few people try it in games against me. I never face camp (or camp in general), but if I've got a down who's crawled under someone on a hook, unless there's only one generator left to pop, I'm going to wait there until I can pick them up. In every case, eventually the person on the ground moved enough for me to be able to grab them. I can imagine that if any of them were part of a SWF group, their teammates were yelling at them, "Move already -- he's not leaving me until you do! I'm going to die up here if you stay under me!". 🤣
