Mindbreaker is a solid perk now
Now that Mindbreaker is in effect the whole game and doesn't stop at 50% gen progress, it's really a solid perk.
If you use your exhaustion perk and the Killer leaves you, you won't recover exhaustion while working on generators. And if you're greeding for a gen and leaving at the last possible second, you won't have your exhaustion perk to bail you out. It's very nice what more can I say?

It seems like a solid change, although I have no idea why the devs are omitting the part about removing the 50% gen progression requirement in the patch notes. A person who is looking at the notes will think Mindbreaker still sucks, without knowing about a big buff to it.

It really fits on GF now. I had so many situations when I fully marked a surv that repairing a gen and he's sprint burst away. And now you have more chances to down survs faster

Wait does vigil effect mindbreaker?
0 -
Yep it does
0 -
If you know they're coming.

But it pauses active exhaustion timers while a survivor is on a generator, meaning that survivors would have had to do 40 seconds of neither generator repair nor running to get to that point. So either they waste a bunch of time to recover exhaustion or go without their exhaustion perk making the first hit/down easier. Solid either way.

So if that's the case to counter mindbreaker you could see an increase in the perk vigil. I can't tell if that's good

My god....

I mean it's sorta good right? Changing the survivor meta right?
0 -
Yes! I was think it’d be a great perk on Ghostface/Wraith/Stealth killers on release but it was a bit too weak.
Maybe Ruin, Undying, Mindbreaker, BBQ would make a good build.

They found a way to make Vigil have a purpose.....its not changing the survivor meta but they are on track to changing it

Thats good. They are going in the right direction

It's fine if you don't see the value in the perk by not paying attention to the whole perk description.

Don't think so.Vigil is still garbage unfortunately

Hmmm.... Plague or Legion + Mindbreaker + blood echo = no escape perks? Will have to test this.
0 -
Agreed, I have been testing it on legion combined with Blood Echo and its basically a guarantee that you will not see a single dead hard, Sprint Burst or any other exhaustion perks more than once if you pressure survivors enough. It is a hard perk to use, but it is really damn solid.

Demo's perk changes would've been nice to have before I got the adept.

It stops the recovery of exhaustion. It turns dead hard into don't touch a gen for 40 seconds or only get 2 uses of the perk
The 5 seconds it applies itself is irrelivant. That it stops the recovery without any way to stop it other then being hooked or stop doing your objective is huge

Not being snarky, just pointing out that it's ok that you don't see the value in the perk.
0 -
Oh, the 50% restriction is still gone?
Yeah, that should help a lot more, those +2 seconds at Perk level 3 wasn't gonna change anything about the other 50%.

Oh man I am so happy and relieved that this went live. Already being a regular Mindbreaker user, it can work as a semi-stall perk, depending on how important a survivors exhaustion perk is to them.
This change is likely to further validate what I already noticed with Mindbreaker: many survivors WILL wait for their exhaustion to recover before touching a gen again.

Nothing I say will matter because others have already said it in this thread so I won't waste my time since you've already made up your mind.
Like I've said... It's perfectly ok that you don't see the value in the change.

At first I was skeptical, but after trying it I can tell it's definetly a good perk now that it works even on the second half of the gen progress. It seems particularly deadly on Leatherface in combination with Tinkerer.

think of it this way if you use sprint burst to escape a killer and the return to the gen as long as you are touching the gen your exhaustion timer is paused so when the killer returns you will have no exhaustion perk for this chase

Exactly. The 5 seconds of exhaustion is really just a “heads up” for survivors, kind of like curses/Hexes.
Original Mindbreaker grew on me because I noticed it could slightly stall the game. My only conclusion is because I guess survivors sick of being caught out exhausted while running an exhaustion perk were waiting till it recovered before touching fresh gens.
It’ll be interesting to see if these changes cause slightly more stall with how common Dead Hard is.

Here’s the thing:
Original Mindbreaker grew on me. I was using it together with Blood Echo. Dead Hard is extremely common across most games, or at least 2 exhaustion perks across all 4 survivors.
Do you know what I noticed when survivors started going down because they couldn’t use their exhaustion? The game stalled. Not quite as much as Ruin or Pop+Corrupt, but noticeable stall nonetheless.
My guess is survivors running exhaustion stopped taking the risk of pushing through repairs in the hope they surpass 50% before I arrived at the same gen, and were instead wasting time till their exhaustion recovered before touching any fresh gens again.
I highly theorise that these Mindbreaker changes will cause MORE game stall when survivors are running exhaustion perks.

Just give another way to keep my 99% sprint burst.... maybe work on lower tier survivors, but definitely not the 1%

It's still a buff to Sprint Burst for experienced survivors who already feather their exhaustion during chase. Even at 5 seconds of exhaustion, I pretty much have Sprint Burst on demand after one tile.

You spending several seconds less on the generator than you otherwise would have is a big buff, and that's assuming you spent time not repairing/running to wait for exhaustion to go away to begin with. I think we'll be seeing more vigil and more treasure/totem hunting than we already are.
1 -
But you will STILL need to wait for your exhaustion to recover before touching a gen to take advantage of the 5 second feathering.
If you can’t see the stall this injects into a match, I don’t know any other way to explain that to you.
