What was the last event you truly enjoyed in DBD

For me, it was BBQ Summer event. Even though it only had 2 pieces of skins, lots of offerings, lots of extra bloodpoints, the special gens and hooks... Maybe it's because it was my first event, but I loved that even so much.

I wonder how community feel about other events. Did you have a favorite one?

    Moonrise was alright

I started playing February this year and there's been only about 3 events total I think. That time we had 1.5× bloodpoints was pretty cool. That was probably my favourite.

Are you talking about the 20day long 1.5x event? Yeah that was pretty good. I'd played then more than I played in months now.

Yeah that was probably my favourite event honestly. I enjoyed grinding it out. The Crowns were really easy to get on every character and the Halloween Event is seemingly ruined. From what I've seen looking up prior halloween events.

I think I enjoyed the Moonrise event the most. Destroying/grabbing the lanterns was fun.

Then again the Halloween event with the vials was interesting, too. I remember playing nectar-defender-Bubba / hiding behind the nectar flowers waiting to jumpscare people.

I ended up farming pretty often after giving people the jumpscare of their lives. Good times.

    Howling grounds event.

Playing normally was what earned you the cosmetics pieces and you earned a good amount of bloodpointd.

It just needed some tweaking so event gens could not be camped and event hooks could not be sabo'd.

Summer BBQ for me too. It was my first event I played in this game and none after have been in its level.

I mostly played survivor during that event and I enjoyed it a lot aswell. The extra objective wasn't to hard to complete and I think the fact that it made the game a bit less stressful for killers helped survivors like me aswell, because the killers played more relaxed.

    antgnstea Member Posts: 869

Yeah seeing blight flowers now unable to touch them made me realized they were kind of fun to mess around.

And lanterns was good too. Since they also gave killers something to look for other than hooks.

An actual event. Unlike this garbage.

  • antgnstea
    antgnstea Member Posts: 869

It was only bad for the first day when survivors just collect their vials and killed themselves on hook. After everyone get used to the pace of it, or collected everything, rest of the event was good.

The 4th anniversary event with crown hunting was fun for me.

  • antgnstea
    antgnstea Member Posts: 869

Was it you first event? Cause moonrise event had better lantern hunting mechanic with more gains. Or you played that too and enjoyed 4th year more?

I think this event and Anniversary are the only 'special' events on Switch? My memory isnt good.

I liked Annivrrsary better cause you just had to keep logging in to get the clothes and charms. Also you got to work on the halos. That was fun cause there was so many to get. So it kept me invested.

Also it was fun when the confetti shot out of flashlights and medkits.

alot of people didnt like the anniversary one, but I really had alot of fun. ❤️

Moonrise was fun on both ends for me. I still wear Feng Min's dress.

I also liked looking around for crowns as Killer during the anniversary, though I really didn't bother with Survivors (not much time left when I came in and I just enjoy Killer more).

I loved all the old events that added a spark of Chaos to the games.

Yes, I loved the events every complained about, because something actually happen.

If an event does not change how we do things, Why have an event at all?

  • antgnstea
    antgnstea Member Posts: 869

It certainly had potential. I totally understand why you liked it. Also it was your first event, so nothing to compare it with for you. it's the reason a lot of people disliked it cause they seen better versions of it in the past. Crowns would have been better with more bloodpoints or tokens to gain from them.

Also agree with confetti animations, they are pretty great.

I gotta say The following Events were awesome:

The first Anniversary, that gave us a ton of new cosmetics, the Party Streamers and a new map

The BBQ Event (I just wished, they would activate it around June or July to give the gens a new look)

Howling Grounds (The amazing New Year Event, with the beautiful Feng Min Skin)

    Hallowed Blight

If we look at this year events. New Year one was lacklustre, Halloween too. 4th Anniversary was fine for me for the sheer amount of cakes we could gain

    ZerLukas Member Posts: 294

No. I've been playing since 2016 so I've been there for most of the events.

Maybe I understood the title question wrong but I thought you meant what was the last event that you enjoyed. 4th anniversary was the latest and I enjoyed that one. But it wasn't my favourite. My favourites events were in 2018 (that year's Halloween event, Howling Grounds, Scorching Summer BBQ)

Ohh you are right. I meant to ask which one was favorite. Let me change that.

edit. On second thought I kind of asked that. "truly enjoyed" part asks that. For some reason I am unable to write in simple words. I was thinking that it's been a while since we have a decent event. So that title got out.

    1. Hollowed Blight
    2. The Howling
    3. Anniversary 2019

I really wish they would do events like the Howling again, it doesn't have to be much. Just a new skin to earn as survivor and killer, have a few aesthetic changes to generators here and there

It would be a great way to get people playing and wouldn't cost that much

I've joined on 2018, so don't know that one. But I loved 2018 winter event if they have resemblance. Those mystery boxes got me lots of good stuff. And menu theme was great.

Summer BBQ was easily my favorite, this event is not only lacking somewhat but it also isn't generating alot of the new items or offerings in bloodwebs , I have everyone maxed out I've probably spent around 600,000 bloodpoints and only got 4 petals about 6 serum add ons for the medkit , one Halloween medkit and one Halloween flashlight, 2 broken bulbs..... For that much in bloodpoints I would've expected more from an event

Howling Grounds/Summer BBQ. Both are basically the same event, but Howling Grounds is notorious cause of some horrible balance decisions made by the devs for a week or so. The 4th Anniversary was alright, and so was the first Hallowed Blight, it just needed some tweaking.

  • elasticheart

    It would be Howling Grounds.

i liked the lunar event with the lanterns you could collect. it made the game feel more competitive in the sense of collecting the event currency which also helped reduce gen rush since everyone was more concerned with finding and holding onto the lanterns.

i never really liked the events where only the gens and hooks provided the event currency because that actually resulted in players only caring about getting the gens done which sucked since players would either rush or go out of their way to sabo event hooks to screw with the killer.

For anyone saying Hallowed Blight 2018 was the best Event: IT WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST!

It was nice that the devs tried something new with the cankers and the vials you had to fill.

But the game was UNPLAYABLE for 2 weeks.

Almost every survivor just tried to fill up his vial (sometimes only took the last 10% of the vial to complete it, so they had to go in a new game and suck a plant dry for 5 seconds) and after that they just KILLED themselves on hook to get into a new match because they kept the vial if they die.

Nobody was playing normally, they were just going after cankers and then kill themselves. Horrible and boring as a survivor and a killer player. I'm happy they changed it this year but I expected a lot more, an actually event to grind for rather without so many ways to exploit it.

Definitively Moonrise. It gave a slightly different game experience without pushing either side too much. And people still were playing quite normal. No suicide, hardcore play or farming. Lovely event.

I like the first time we got Pustula plants & the 1-year anniversary in terms of specialness.

If i did it in terms of BP, so many would be #1.

Have you ever looked here: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Events

If you look at the Past Events section, you can see how the amount of Events decreases with each year. 🤔

The most recent one I enjoyed? The anniversary event. Crowns were an interesting gimmick and it was good motivation to play pretty much all of the original characters again. Plus cake, lots and lots of cake. Oh, and the fantastic new (and unfortunately temporary) loading screen.

Favorite overall? Moonrise. Felt a little less cheese-able than Hollowed Blight (2018) while still having the unique interaction with the Lanterns. Plus the Firecracker Hooks/Gens were my favorite event re-style of those elements.

Definitely Moonrise. Collecting Lamps was better then just harvesting plants and wasn't that bad since ppl weren't throwing games

I enjoyed the moonrise event althought I was triggered by teammates throwing the game to get a lantern they could get later. Before that my favorite event was the Hallowed Blight event. It gave survivors something else to do even though it made us all mindless hoarders. I laughed all the way to the hook, as long as I got my nectar. Worse gameplay of my life but I enjoyed it.
