Chapter 18 Theories
So in the upcoming weeks we'll be receiving some hints and teasers nothing is truly concrete until we actually make it to the PTB,but we do have have some possible candidates.
I'd start off with Hellraiser as the top candidate.Do you remember the tweet Cõte sent out about his friend having the same name as one of the writers from the Hellraiser movie's, obviously Deathslinger also to me is a red herring for me
Carrie is my second choice of speculation only because Cruel Limits was Changed from Cruel Confinement, which to me seems like a Carrie perk ^ plus her mother and her confined each other at some point during the movie so yea
Finally my third guess is Nemesis. The official Resident Evil posted a tweet ending with Daylight and We have a Perk called Nemesis coincidence maybe but with the umbrella logos uummm seems kind of fishy what are devs doing over their 👁👁

Well, if we are going by leaks then it’s not licensed but, at this point, they probably know people look for that stuff so their probably actively screwing with those people now. For now though, I’m just going to say it’s original.

I doubt the next Chapter is licensed (leaks), but I will still hold out on the fact that Candyman was teased so heavily around the anniversary (which was to happen around the same time as the movie before Covid) and want it to be him.
I have a feeling he'll be coming in March though. Cote mentioned REALLY liking the concept after talking about Hellraiser, so something similar to that is expected, but it's also possible that he was referring to the concept that just entered development (something we won't see until next year).

isnt there some drama right now with the hellraiser creator ? or am I thinking of something else?
edit: after further investigation their is currently a lawsuit dealing with who owns the rights to it.

Oh Yeah,I totally forgot about the lawsuit, I don't know how it's going to turn out but it would be so awesome to have a character like Hellraiser in our game.

I’m more fascinated to see what ideas are left to explore for perks and powers.

I personally would like at least one more original killer before we get another licensed one as I find the licensed chapters to be more special when they’re spaced apart.
I’m still hoping a Supernatural chapter is on the horizon as with the show ending in 4 weeks, having Sam and Dean as survivors would be a great way to carry on the shows legacy.

Im guessing non licensed, we have nothing to imply it is. But if it was licensed Id guess it would be RE, Candyman, or a paragraph of some kind like Supernatural or Slenderman.

I love the original character's as well, but I am from that era with all of those monster's that a good portion of this community grew up on ,it's so surreal seeing them come to life and realized the way the dev's animate them.The original character's are very unique so whatever it is ,it's going to be great . I love the backstories that come with their original chapter's they always make interesting power's for their characters.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love seeing classic horror characters being added to the roster as Michael Myers is the reason I got into this game in the first place.
I just want the licensed chapters to feel really special and if we get too many within a short period of time, it could take away from them. I want to have time for stuff to settle in, so we can really enjoy every detail.
I love how many doors the Silent Hill chapter opened as now we know other game franchises aren’t off limits. It’s exciting to think about what could be around the corner...

I really hope it's licensed as I feel this previous chapter was really lacking and lately I've enjoyed the licensed ones a lot more than the original stuff. Maybe one year, perhaps 2049 we'll finally get a werewolf type killer

Its a big licence without legal issues, the devs just grabbed a video game horror licence, RE Resistance is basically dead. It just seems like something to naturally follow up Silent Hill.

People complain about Deathslinger, but you just wait and see their faces when Nemesis comes with a rocket launcher.

I'm imaging that scene in the RE2 Remake where Nemesis pulls Jill up by the head and sticks a flamethrower in her face.

If done right, he could be such a menacing addition to the game and be a killer that people think twice about provoking. Resident Evil coming to this game would be truly iconic.

If Nemesis did get in he'd probably be the most physically imposing character in the game. We are also sorely lacking a fire based killer and his fancy new flame thrower fits that bill perfectly.

I believe it will be an original.
According to LBD, the characters in chapter 18 will be purchasable with shards. However, I am unsure how credible LBD is, considering a new sub for leaks was created by a former member of LBD.
Also, this is not proof, but in a devstream about licensing and the event, Mathieu Cote was asked about what license he would like most, and he ended it by talking about how he really likes the originals and that the concept for the next one was really cool. Again, not proof by any means, but it should be considered.
We can expect a teaser to come between the 10th and 20th next month if we go based off of previous chapters. Usually, licensed chapter teasers are pretty obvious as to what it is, so we'll have to wait and see.

The presentation of shattered bloodlines was pretty chilling, I hope the next original chapter will be scary it's no telling what it could be if it's original but Silent Hill carries that gloomy foreboding sense of terror.I get freakout at the sight of Pyramid Head. I do think this next chapter will be scary if it's an original or license.

I hope we get less of licensed killers and more of original killers; licensed killers are limited in what they can do based on how they work in the franchises they come from. Meanwhile we just got Blight, who is hands down the most interesting killer in the game, with an insane skill ceiling (even if an average skillfloor) with insane mobility making him really fun, and he's fun to play against too.
No more ranged killers, though, please...Huntress is the perfect ranged killer and DS and PH were such bad additions to the game imo.

I'd like a killer that can take on the visage of other Survivors in the match (like the thing). Infiltration stealth would be kind of OP though lol.

I will never understand the mindset that originals are better than licensed. They did such creative and cool jobs for the licensed killer powers!
And if there are powers that get talked down it’s usually original ones (Legion, Plague, Clown, Blight in the beginning, Trapper..) with the exception being Freddys first version.
that said, still think next one will probably be original, doesn’t really matter for me either way, as long as it will never be something like Scooby Doo
