Barbeque and howling grounds..etc

If these past events were so much fun, I dont unserstand why the devs just dont re-release these events every year.

did they lose the codes? what reason is there not to just make them constant yearly events?

They want you to play the rift and give them money, instead of having fun during an event. That's why they don't do good events anymore.

Updates and changes, most specifically graphical updates. People forget that all these special events which have different graphics and whatnot interact with the maps. In the last 2+ months they have done graphic overalls of a lot of maps and simply loading the code from previous events could have all sorts of unexpected issues. New hills might overlaps old things (for just one example). To some degree you will notice this year's event has Blighted Hooks and Blighted Generators. This is because those are specific items that spawn and move about, i.e. their logistics in the new maps is known. They could create custom graphics for these and have them within specific dimensions without risk. That is also why the pus-flower things work the way they do now.

I feel bad for the DEV. I think people forget how much work goes into these graphical updates and new maps. I suspect that a LOT of their man hours have been going into that project and thus were not available for massive graphics for a Halloween event. More to the point, all that work they put into giving us newer, updated maps doesn't make them money (it just costs them money to do it) so I'm sure there are some of them (and rightfully so) thinking a lot of us sound rather ungrateful. I'm just trying to put this into context. All companies have a finite number of resources and man hours for projects. They set priorities. I could have made the same mistake myself. I would certainly have thought getting as many of the maps looking awesome and updated is more important than a single, limited time event.
