I know this is the beginning of cross progression, but If I were to do this on my pc now, would I lose out on cross progress from my console to pc later?

Or will I be able to get a code that I can input on console when/if it arrives. Granted if there is even a player base by then given they've lost nearly 9,000 players on steam in the last 30 days


Basically what I'm asking is if I create an account now, is that hard setting my stuff on pc to being the only thing I can transfer over? Or would I be able to login to my account on console and use the stuff I had over on pc and vice versa?
