Why Can't I Sabotage Event Hooks?
It's only letting me Sabotage Normal hooks, what's the point in that? It's pretty much making some builds and items pointless to use lol

To avoid that Killers cannot get their "Event" Objective done. Even tho, with 30 seconds until the Hook is back, it is not that much of a problem anymore, but back in the days when it took Hooks 3 minutes to respawn, it was not good at all that Event Hooks were able to be sabotaged.

Wow, that's pretty dumb, Survivors should get some points for Sabotaging them, I took a protection hit for my friend and went to get a clutch sabo for it to only slap me in the face xD

enought with the fact they usually are far away and takes more time to reach them...
what's the point of annoying someone who is tryning to get the extra bloodpoints from them?
6 -
I mean, not really sure why Killers need even more bloodpoints than what they get anyways. But it's a risky play for a survivor to sabo a hook and takes abit of timing, if killers are really that bothered about them being far away, use stuff like Iron Grasp, but I honestly don't see why Killers need to worry about walking out the game with like 4k extra bp's when most games they leave with 60k+ with BBQ.

Ugh! Why are they always so killer sided! 😊
4 -
I mean stats don't lie. 50 million kills vs 6.7 million escapes lol
0 -
and why is that? because i'm giving my opinion on a dumb mechanic? lol the game is 2 sided...you're going to have people who are defending their side of the coin. I play both and personally I couldn't give a f if someone sabotaged a event hook. Stop making assumptions about me when you don't know how I play the game.
Just makes me laugh when all I read is people complaining with how "OP" survivors are when Killers clearly get a lot more Kills than survivors escape. Take kills out of the equation and look at the bloodpoint difference too.
Feel like most people just see this game as oh look a killer getting abused by some top 5% SWF's...let's go complain about it, when really most games are, getting hooked once, lucky to get saved by randoms, dead.

A good solution would be to teleport the event hook to the closest normal hook.

No, because you're using irrelevant stats to justify your attempt at ruining other players' trials.

Dude all I see is you on the forums trying to constantly 1up people who give an honest opinion on the game. Do you actually play the game yourself? How are they exactly irrelevant stats when the whole game is about surviving and getting kills.
No doubt they would be relevant if it showed 20 million Kills vs 6.7 million Escapes.

Yeah i'd be fine with that. With the hook rng the way it is right now on most maps, it wouldn't be that difficult to carry to another hook.
1 -
They are irrelevant because the devs explicitly stated those stats were just from trials that advanced the challenges.
6 -
So we are supposed to just ignore stats just because they're part of challenges...makes sense.
1 -
Yes, we are supposed to ignore stats that are "contaminated" by external factors. That's how statistical analysis works.
7 -
Event Hooks are usually "unsabotagable" - this is there to prevent trolling as much as possible.
9 -
As someone else suggested it would of been better if they did it so the event hook moves to a different one after Sabotage

Don't really need to sabotage event hooks. They're always so far away, the majority of survivors get off my shoulder before I get to one.
4 -
Stats do lie, actually. Especially those ones, which were the stats from archive challenge games, where people would throw the game to get their challenge.
5 -
The current system works just fine, so there's no reason to waste time implementing a different one.
1 -
I mean it doesn't work fine because I wouldn't be on the forums complaining about it. Shouldn't stop a survivor from doing something just because it could be "trolling"...

It's pretty lame. I've already had a few matches where a teammate would have survived had I been able to sabo a certian hook. Really dumb. It made sense with the last 2 events where you had to use them as there were actual sabo SWF troll squads but now its silly.

Again I was making the play to Sabotage the hook as I took a protection hit...I wasn't purposely looking to sabotage it because it was a event hook. Not sure how survivors are wiggling free because everytime I go down the game makes sure there's at least 3 hooks 5 meters away.

People sabotage hooks anyways like I don't see the point in getting annoyed about not being able to hook someone, you only get like what 4k bps? Pretty lame...how about Corrupt covering up Blighted Generators for 2 minutes?

If survivors hadn't trolled killers en masse before, this wouldn't be necessary. Unfortunately they did, so it is. You'll just have to hold off on sabotaging hooks until after the event, I suppose.

Well just sounds like a design flaw to me. Inability to be creative in finding a solution to the problem so they decide to just block it. Makes sense
1 -
The simplest solution is almost always the best.
1 -
Yep and look how that's turning out for the game

In this particular instance it's turning out great. Killers can't be trolled by sabo squads and trials can progress more or less normally. I'd hate to be in a trial where half my teammates are just out to troll the killer by sabotaging event hooks.
1 -
They should just make all hooks and gens event ones and by bringing in the offering you get more points for it. Killers can still camp event gens so it'd be the fairest solution
1 -
This is all theoretical not every Survivor squad is out to troll the killer. Same goes for balancing. Feel like all I see is people trying to suggest every game is the top 10% of sweaty SWF's because it's not and i'm tired of seeing this as an excuse.
0 -
What is theoretical? I didn't say that every survivor squad is out to troll the killer, nor did I make any statement regarding game balance. What I said was that, this way, killers can't be trolled by sabo squads, which is an objective fact.
3 -
You just said you'd hate if half your team was out to troll the Killer, which is Theoretical because I doubt if event hooks were breakable every game you'd get would be sabo squads looking to troll the Killer so you're basing your opinion on assumptions and not facts. Hooks don't stay broken for long anymore either, so really don't see why they should remained blocked.
0 -
No, I'm basing my opinion on multiple things, but you're choosing to focus on an irrelevant statement regarding my preference in teammates (which, by the way, is based on real experiences, though not my own) as opposed to the fact that killers were being trolled back when event hooks could be sabotaged.
I don't see why they should be unblocked, since it seems a lot of people are still looking to sabotage event hooks and only event hooks.

If people sabotaging event stuff is the main problem, then I don't see any problem with killers not being able to kick event generators. Sure, they can patrol those gens, just as survivors can bodyblock the event hook (like any other), but while they are unsaboable, they also negate any perks that are about sabotage. Kicking, Ruin, Surge, and other stuff the killer can bring should also not take effect on event generators, because that, as many have stated here, is trolling and ruining other people's games.
Or an even better solution, is to just enable sabo'ing event hooks, because 1. 30 seconds is not that much, and 2. It's literally only 1000/3000 Bloodpoints. That literally only pays for the Petal itself.
1 -
Yea, these things tend to only ever happen in one direction unfortunately.
0 -
Cause you cant. There special hooks.
1 -
Having a hook that cannot be sabotage is great. As a Killer I ran into a full on bully squad, and the only reason They didn't fully bully me to the end was I managed to move the fight near an event hook. That event hook is my favorite thing of 2020
I fully believe the game would be better if there was at least 1 hook in all games above ground that could never be broken.
0 -
So you want to sabotage event hooks eh
1 -
These changes only ever go in one direction.
Watch the forums nerd rage if survivors got something and killers missed out.
