Disappointed
I really want to enjoy this game but the game won’t let me. There were a few times where I was either slugged and camped on picked up and put down over and over and over the entire match, watched until I bled out so I left one match. I also left another match because I got stuck in a glitch and couldn’t play. Then there was a game where I got stuck in a T pose and couldn’t do anything except die so I used my first few low penalty disconnects for stuff like that. But my internet crashed on me twice after that as well. Between the DC penalty and constant lack of fun playing survivor I can’t help but be disappointed at this game.

I need help getting this removed. I was playing survivor repairing the last gen with another survivor and then my game just froze and I had to reset my router. I come back online and it’s 48 hours? 😓 screw this man. The game should be able to tell if you disconnected on purpose or not.

You have admitted to purposefully disconnecting. You know there is a penalty, so stop disconnecting on purpose. No matter what the reason.
And how do you expect the game to know the difference between disconnecting on purpose, and internet issues? How is it supposed to know you don't purposefully reset your router?

Your internet crashing twice, thats on you, like you said the first penalties arent harsh and for me gamebreaking bugs like not bleeding or egc not ending the game.. etc are very rare and if you’re gonna play a game with a wifi that crashes twice in a row you need to fix it yourself

If you accidentally disconnected because your internet was being screw-y, that tells the game that you don't have a stable connection, at least not at the time.
You must have that for the game, and the game can't help you with that, so it will punish you for not having it until you do have it.
Idk about the other stuff you mentioned, but a stable connection is pretty much required for online-only games.

No.

i don’t rage quit. I used the first few for reasonable dcs such as bugs or inability to play the game. But add a few internet problems to top it off and this is where you find yourself. It’s kinda messed up and quite an excessive penalty. I just want to play the game.

Dumb. The DC penalty’s inability to determine whether or not it was on purpose makes it stupid to have in the first place. You ought to be able to have a chance to rejoin until the match is over to avoid it or take a lesser penalty. In a game filled with bugs and risk of internet issues or other frustrations setting in there needs to be more leniency.

But you can't with internet troubles. I had to give up on this game for a couple of months because internet troubles too.
It sucks but that's the nature of multiplayer games
2 -
Just wait until the games are over. Slugged? Wait till bleed out. You dc'd.
You got stuck? Wait until the game is over. You dc'd.
Not stable connection? That's on you.

Yeah I used the first few disconnects/took the small bans to get myself out of a bug or a glitch thinking I’ll be fine for awhile after the updates recently. and then my internet goes down on two occasions after that it’s quickly 24 then 48. I can’t even play the game. That’s ridiculous. I’m sorry but that’s not fair to the players if the game can not determine whether or not the DC was on purpose or it was an accident. Even if it can’t do that, at least provide a way to rejoin the match to receive maybe a lesser penalty. Whether that would put you in spectator mode or being able to play again under certain conditions. Rainbow 6 siege has a ban system that gives the player a second chance to avoid the ban. Otherwise you’re torturing your players.

Lol. So whenever you get in a chase, just restart your router and rejoin the game and carry on unharmed.
Invincibility on demand.

Why should it be removed? Quite happy that someone who either DCs on purpose or crashes out will not be in my game for 48 hours.
Dont DC, then you dont get a penalty. If you DC because the penalty is low, the Devs may take this as a hint that the penalty is TOO low.
If you crashed because of your internet connection, this is up to you. The other players in your game dont care if you DC intentionally or your Internet crashed, it is a 3v1 or a finished Match (if you were the Killer) at this point. You have to ensure that your connection is stable.

Don't DC just let go on the hook
1 -
Yeah I see where it could be abused but not really. You understand there is a process for your internet to boot back up and load the game. If they were in a chase (or not) They could always just Put that player in Spectator mode when they rejoin or just put a Sacrificial timer on them until they rejoin and while that timer is going they are dying in game. They would come back injured right where they disconnected. It would be the same as being hooked except you’re not hooked you’re standing right where you left off.

Also, it could cost you one hook Each time and the timer would initiate to the next phase

It is stable but people in the house sometimes either unplug it on their own not taking into consideration that I’m in the middle of a ranked match. Or the internet just stops working. I don’t know if someone can lag switch you in this game but it was kind of messed up that I was in game and the whole router just dumped out of nowhere until I reset it. The 24 hour ban before that was because someone unplugged it. I can’t play the game. And no matter how I explain this to anyone people will sit here and defend it to the teeth. It’s ridiculous. How about the devs establish a way to get back into the game and prevent the DC penalty before they enforce one.

Too many factors. The penalty needs to work exactly how it does now, otherwise it will be abused and makes it pointless.
I will agree that some of the penalty times are very excessive. I think a maximum 1 or 2 hour penalty is more than enough to put 99% of people off from disconnecting.

24-48 hours is ridiculous man. I don’t even know when you get a clean slate again. But I can’t deal with this kind of penalty when there’s bugs and glitches everywhere. Internet crashes at random intervals (although mine is rather stable it does still happen occasionally due to others tampering with it or a possible crash which is fixable by unplugging it and plugging it back in)
still the penalties should not exceed a few hours I agree.

It would not render the penalty pointless if it worked another way than it currently does now. They could definitely alter it to give players another chance to rejoin but under certain conditions that doesn’t affect the killer negatively. For example, maybe immediately upon DCing the gradual diminishing of your sacrificial timer would go into effect until you rejoin. That’s the only thing that makes up for it imo. Where it harms your team like it normally would but doesn’t affect the killer. Allow a rejoin system!

Bud, just let this go. You're wrong. You dc'd because you got slugged!!! and when you got stuck. Just wait till the game ends. You decided to dc getting the ban.
I don't want a players with dc habits and bad internet in my games.
Fix your internet and stop dc.

Your intentional DCs and your spotty internet are putting your team out. The glitches are unfortunate, but they happen. Report them to the Devs so they can work on them.

Stop disconnecting for inappropriate reasons or accept the penalty and don't complain when you suddenly have a big timer lock.
I also left another match because I got stuck in a glitch and couldn’t play.
If true that's unfortunate and a more justifiable reason to disconnect, make sure said issue is reported/already reported.
Then there was a game where I got stuck in a T pose and couldn’t do anything except die so I used my first few low penalty disconnects for stuff like that.
If true that's unfortunate and a more justifiable reason to disconnect but you could've simply just waited to die instead, make sure said issue is reported/already reported.
But my internet crashed on me twice after that as well.
That's a YOU issue, DBD cannot tell the difference between "my connection died randomly" and "I unplugged the Router :^)" nor cares, if you cannot ensure a reliable connection for a MULTIPLAYER game then you shouldn't be playing as it still ruins a match for 4 other players.

Other multiplayer games give you the abilities to reconnect to the match, which would be difficult to do here I understand that, or have a more reasonable disconnect penalty.
I haven't reached over an hour ban, But even after optimizing my internet and such, just for this game mind you I don't have half as many issues with other games as this one, I still end up with issues that cause my game to disconnect.
My favorite being loading into a match only to have my x-box make the most unholy noise ever and shut down, its only this game that causes that and each time it happens I get a new penalty. I'm terrified to play more then six games in a row now since it happens between games 6 and 10 and this is a newer Xbox.
This is a casual game, it's not overwatch or LOL where we are playing ranked games that matter and having huge disconnect penalties for a game that often has issues isn't going to help our player base.

Friend Who plays on the PS4 and had a lot of game crashing issues due to the frame rate and other issues, not 100% sure what those were, said he gave it a week and the penalty had reset to zero after his 48 hour ban. So it resets it just takes a while, sadly this made him quit the game to go back to other more competitive and player friendly games, but that happens.
I agree the length of the penalty is over the top, the fact that you can't appeal, expecally when you have proof that you didn't rage disconnect, makes it worse

Doesn't take away the point that the general mindset is to just have stable internet for these kinds of games.
The developers have that mindset too, and decided to incentivize people to have a stable connection by putting disconnectors on a temporary, gradually-increasing ban.
You can dislike it and want changes to it, but they're not going to remove DC penalties because your connection screwed you over, that's not their problem to fix.
Again, not dismissing having to DC because of glitches & bugs, that absolutely sucks.
