Oni or Blight? Help with choosing between the two

Hope everyone's Halloween went well.

So I've had my eyes on Oni for the longest time. His slugging potential and whole aesthetic caught my attention ever since he got released. With that being said, Blight joined the roster recently and he seems incredibly fun to play. I know both are difficult to master, which is the whole appeal of them since at heart I'm a nurse main.

The deciding factor for me currently is the strength and viability. Which one is more lethal in the right hands?

Oni all day man. Oni with infectious fright, and pop is a god tier killer in the right hands. Blight is good but I'd out him up against oni and oni would win any day in my personal opinion. Onis tracking ability is super helpful in some situations, his add ons really can help you fine tune his ability to your liking.

blight is more lethal, while onis power is the strongest in the game he doesn't have it at all times, blight just has more potential off of that fact alone

It´s kinda hard to judge which one is more lethal tbh. Blight seems more consistent from what I can tell watching some streamers, like Scott. He does an amazing Blight.

I think Oni has more highs and lows with less margin for error. Not capitalising enough on the power is very punishing on him, whereas Blight recovers very fast from misplays and is threatening throughout the match.

Personally I´d recommend Oni, but I´m very biased :P

Honestly, I consider both similar levels of viability; I love them. So really, it's down to which killer power you think you'll find more fun.

It is very satisfying pulling off some of the most insane mindgames that Oni can pull, but it's also the same feeling when you chain 5 rushes together into a hit on a survivor that you had no business getting!

But I would say if you have Monitor and Infectious unlocked, Oni is stronger. Especially if you have a love of the super aggressive Nurse playstyle.

I'd say if you like one, you'll almost definitely will like the other. Both are speedy boys and both are extremely lethal in right hands. Oni's controls in Dash attack are a bit easier to get used to, but it takes more time to charge your power. On the other hand, Blight is a chase monster at all times. His ability to catch up to wounded survivors can be overshadowed only by Nurse and Spirit.

Personally for me, Blight is more fun to play, so I'd give preferance to him. Also, by means of difficulty Blight is closer to Nurse, but the process of learning on Blight imo is way less annoying than on Oni.

  • Oni's blood orb addons essentially let him have his power the entire game, add nemesis+PWYF you have a fool-proof method of consistently getting your power.

Blight has his stuff right off the bat, but at the end of the day considering at least green addons I feel Oni is stronger.
