EDIT: you can just skip my ramble and get to discussing if it's frustration or boredom that'll make you want to take a break from DbD if you want innit..

--------------------------------

K, I've been a bit tl; dr in a few replies tonight so I'll try fastwording through a long explanation and say since starting playing in 2018 I've taken a long break that I vaguely remember was frustration based, last month during a month of annual leave-when I thought I'd play tons of DbD-I took a 10 day break for mostly frustration reasons (with some boredom) but when I redownloaded in time for the Halloween bonuses I, err, found playing the game just to get the bonus xp kind of a chore after a few days 😓...I kinda didn't get that butthurt about the toxicity etc going around and realized most of any frustration was from me playing too "martyr altruistic" or out mind gaming myself/doing a bad read/frames dropped and game went poopy... I've accidentally not got around to playing at all this week because it just feels a little same same same...it's a slightly complicated version of hide and seek tag....I'll probably be playing again and probably loving it again tomorrow though but yeah, game just got boring for me...

There's a lotta folks in the community with a seemingly fanatical devotion to the game and there's always posts and talk in the community about different things that frustrate players and every now and then someone will post some "I CANT IT NO MORE!" attempt at a dramatic exit post here but I haven't seen many people talk about getting bored of playing DbD 😕

Surely some of you guys that love to flex about how many thousands of hours you've clocked in playing have gotten bored of the game at some stage?

Well, there you go, I went and tl; dr'd anyway...please feel free to discuss if it's frustration or boredom that's more likely to get to you or make you need to take a break..

I think the problem with dbd as a solo queue survivor is that 40% of the game is boring, 40% is frustrating and 20% is fun. I don't think a lot of other survivors realize this but a lot of their suggestions sound like it'll make the game 80% boring, 10% frustrating and 10% fun, unless they really enjoy doing gens while peacefully waiting their turn to get chased again.

I don't think I can say much about killer other than I find it too stressful and frustrating compared to boring.

I feel like a basic b. for repeating it again but I really wish DbD had stolen a bunch of ideas from F13. Even the skill checks are a more interesting version of DbD's and your character's skills impact on the speed they're done, plus you've got to source parts before doing the different things that require skill checks. The M1 type attack in F13 not being an animation is also preferential IMO.

I don’t get bored because I play both roles at Rank 1. Sometimes I gravitate more to Survivor, sometimes more to Killer. But the fact that DBD has two very different gameplay experiences is a big part of why I almost never get bored of it.
