Why do Survivors assume Killers are stupid?

gatsby
gatsby Member Posts: 2,533

Survivors insult my intelligence on a daily basis.

The dumb tech, the window tech, the maybe he didn't see me on BBQ so I'm gonna crouch in place and turn invisible tech. The obvious flashlight saves, the failed pallet saves, the bodyblocking with BT nonsense. Tying to bait an early swing with Dead Hard and Sprint Burst. Taking hits and flashlight clicking to try to get me to chase you when I know dang well there are two people on death hook and you're not one of them.

Just stop. I have an IQ over 7. I ain't gonna fall for that sh

Mainly because works most of the time, and if the killer is inexperienced they will easily fall for this. And as someone already pointed out not everyone is willing to go trough the whole learning process (in both sides). Can also be the fact that they saw the trick in a video, it worked for that guy and wanted to try it out.

Usually, If I do something like this it’s because I’m dumb and not because I think you are 😅

There have been so many times where I think I have an amazing hiding spot and I get caught, and then an hour later when I’m playing killer a survivor pulls the same thing on me and I realize how stupid I must have looked.

I promise it’s not personal, but I get why it’s annoying, I encounter it as killer constantly.

I love moments that shouldn't work but do. I was playing a dark clothing character on Ormond and I was out in the open and heard the heartbeat right? ...but I wasn't ready to get chased.

I crouched in the open behind a very tiny blade of grass that came up to my character's knee.

    The killer missed me.

The one I love the MOST is how often a survivor is running directly behind me when I’m carrying someone else to a hook.

Because...you know... presumably all killers play this game on mute.

I think he was joking, making it seem like he is offended when he isn't actually

Because Survivors think you are the Manager, You are supposed to do what they want in their mind.

A lot of survivors have Karen mentality.

Dumb tech and window tech work more often than not. FAR more often.

These things make me laugh it's amazing if you pull it off. And I like unobservent survivors that miss my enduring completely allowing me to grab them by the throat. I don't mind falling for a clever trick it keeps you on your toes.

It's normal, when I play Dbd, be it in killer or survivor, I okay with one rule : never treat your opponent as if they were stupid but never forget that they are.

If you are well positioned, you can either get lucky and it work, or you get a hit run to Narnia with the speed buff, use your dead hard / sprint burst to get even more ground between you and the killer and have them feel like it's not worth it or have them waste time in a chase they already are at a disadvantage in. And as a killer... The amount of time I pretend not to see a survivor to smack them the second I get close to them... This got me many early down xD

Don't tell them that the minute they get big brain is the minute they stop falling for our fake swings and we won't be able to ever counter dead hard.

Does window tech now only work with a map/key or is it still possible without those items?

Becuz of ppl like me. I fall for some of those on purpose to give the survivors a good time at the expense of my own.

They think I'm stupid though. And tell me I'm stupid.

Well it really is like a lot of killers play the game on mute and have no idea what footsteps are supposed to sound like. Dumb stuff like this works more often than not because you run into more bad players than good ones.

this question is so stupid OP honestly.

Dead by daylight is all about guessing etc so when a killer mindgames a pallet and a survivor knows that does that mean killers assume survivor to be stupid?

dbd is all about, guessing, mindgaming, routing, faking blabla

You're getting angry at survivors for trying to shake up gameplay and make the match more interesting.

This, sometimes if I'm in no danger of losing and the survivors seem not super experience I'll play a little dumb to let a match last longer and make it more fun.

Congratulations for not falling for this stuff but it has been working conistantly on killers for almost 4 years for me. Its not an insult as much as its testing the waters as how much can you get away with. You can also counteract this by pretending to be stupid and getting easy hits.

It actually works most of the time. The window tech is my favorite juke, because unless the killer moonwalks after vaulting, they have no idea about it. I like dumb tech, because if they know about it, just stay inside them, and it turns into a fun mindgame. Flashlight clicking almost always works to get a killer on you as well.

You can actually get away with a lot of stuff you shouldn’t be able to with some killers, so I always like to test the water to see how ‘smart’ a killer plays and then I know what I can and can’t attempt.

Recently I ran to unhook somebody against a Freddy, made him hit them on the hook instead of me and then I just crouched at the hook. He walked away trying to work out where I had ran off to, when I literally just sat at the hook. I then got the unhook and made him chase me so my teammate could get away. He was rank 1.

I don’t think I fall for anything as dumb as that when I play killer, but it’s because I play a lot of survivor as well, so I know the stuff to look out for. Unfortunately, some people only play one side, which hinders them in the end as they fall for so much stuff throughout the match. It’s ridiculous how many times I’ve been able to do the exact same thing more than once in a match before the killer learns from their mistake.

Cuz in movies, all Killers generally act stupid. The only reason they get to kill people is because they for some reason make bad decisions and stumble for no reason and need 5 minutes to get up again. Victims are slightly more stupid than the Killers which makes everyone in horror movies stupid.

    Clearly....

Otherwise I wouldn’t be turning around smacking/downing other survivors while I’m carrying to the hook on such a frequent basis.

Cause it works on 90% of killers, most players who play this game are bad at it. People still get CJ teched at this point ffs

I don't think anyone is insulting your intelligence, or at least not the majority, and I feel comfortable in making that assumption.

I think instead its done because it works often enough to try, and you have no way of knowing if it'll work against your current killer until you at least attempt it.

How about the fact that some people might also find it fun to do, or maybe they are just clueless (like in your BBQ example). Its also possible they are just practicing a tech (window tech anyone?), and the killer knowing about it or not is irrelevant.
