New Hack (Counters Insta-Down)
I saw a new hack today watching my gal play. She was in Tier-3 Myers and hit a blonde Meg. The Meg didn't go down. She just went to the wounded state. Anyone else running into people defying the Insta-Down?

It was a meg, so maybe adrenaline? I’m sure it wasn’t, but how many gens were there?

Hrm. I don't recall. I suppose you could be right. I'd rather believe that than a new hack. Yeah.... the Generators were close. I'll rewatch my gal's video to confirm. I feel better about that.

I think there was a bug not too long ago that did the exact same thing.

Well, I did review the video and the Meg didn't go down and jump back up. She just never went down. So perhaps the timing of the gates was that exact, but I'm a little skeptical. I guess the only thing to do is keep recording and watching to see if it happens more.

Could this be a Mettle of Man? I think that protects against insta-downs..

Except this Meg never took any protection hits. I watched the whole video, from start to finish. This was the first time she was even in the Killers line of sight. We aren't going to worry about it too much unless we see it happening again. It is just the weirdest thing. You expect them to go down and they just keep on trucking.

I wouldn’t put it past it being a new hack. I myself have experienced a steep rise in suspicious killer behaviour when I play survivor since mid chapter.

It could also be a new bug. I had an incident where I was tier 3 myers and they just got injured as well.

had that recently happen; if server-validation is being tested occasionally, I would definitely attribute it to that. I was doing something where a survivor should have gone from healthy to dying and made the "being downed" sound but just went into the injured state. Then the servers lagged, and we both teleported back into each other, and I hit her down again, effectively getting the insta-down I would have gotten if the game registered things properly.

It actually happened to me. Oni hit me while in his rage and it only hurt me. I don’t know why, but it didn’t matter since he downed me while I stood there figuring out what happened. Anyway, I think this is a glitch rather than a hack. I wouldn’t be hating on the blonde Meg in this instance.

This is most likely what happened. I've countered Meyers' Tier 3 with a septic agent before. He was Tier 2 when I applied it, a few seconds later he was tier 3 and instead of going down I had deep wound. I was shocked.

i really hope that is was just a really cool adrenaline play, rather than a new hack

Did the Oni do the full-on demon strike where he bonks the ground a couple of times, or was it the basic attack version where he stares at the weapon and shakes the blood off?
