Semi new survivor here- really need some pointers

I’m somewhat new to survivor. I’ve played enough games to get up 1 rank. The problem is idk what perks I should run and how to out play certain killers. I’m a killer main myself and almost exclusively play doctor so I’m pretty bad against every othe killer and tips or pointers on how to counter certain killer. Would also be great what perks I should get and what I should stay clear of

BT for campers, DS for tunnelers, UB for sluggers. And then the best perk is DH. I play with kindred and without BT, but these are the best perks by far

So you are a genny person, I rarely find those so I assume you go on stealth

Perk wise I suggest Spine Chill to be one of your perks, helps you know if the killer is looking at you and speeds up gen repairs when they do.

id suggest sprint burst, urban evasion, spine chill, and an off perk of your choice (can be anything you really like)

sprint burst is one of the best exhaustion perks in game since it lets you do unsafe gens safely when its up. also, you get a lot of distance with it without really thinking of pathing in chase

urban because you like being stealthy- BUT, dont urban around the entire match. id suggest only actually using urban for when the killer is near you, because you’d be wasting time if you urban’d everywhere

spine chill is to show you when the killer is actually coming to you, so you know when to be stealthy and hide. its also really versatile as you can use it in chase- if you can master using the information gained from it you'll know what the killer is trying to do most of the time

also, one perk to stay away from: self care. although it can sometimes be useful, it wastes a LOT of time so it isn't really worth running without a full healing build. Also, you can just bring a medkit to free up the perk slot, anyway.

and a general tip for survivor- against a good killer, most of the time its a very good idea to take the agro off of the other survivors eventually, even if you go down fast. You have to separate hooks across all survivors because the match will turn into a 3v1 very fast if you don’t.

If you like stealth maybe you'll like the build I normally use for solo queue

Detectives Hunch : A very handy perk to find totems, especially with Ruin + Undying being quite common in higher ranks

Kindred : Helps out with knowing if the killer is near the hook or if some one is already going for the save

Spine Chill : A stealth killers worst nightmare, helps you know when you should probably run away

Sprint Burst : Pairs well with Spine Chill, when you're certain the killer is coming to your gen use Sprint Burst to get yourself in a better position.

This build is an all-rounder that doesnt counter a specific killer but mainly gives you as much information as possible, that info can help in a lot of situations, including evading the killer
