I'm getting pretty frustrated with the matchmaking in this game.
Hi. Killer main. Play survivor a decent amount too.
I'm relatively new. I first started a while before the freddy rework but took a long break. I've been back, on and off, for about a month. I'm a Rank 14 killer.
So this morning I hope on, want to get a round in as the Plague. Sit in a queue for 10, 15 minutes before finally finding a match. One survivor DCs immediately, on runs right up to me, starts teabagging furiously until I down her, then suicides on hook. One DCs because I leave him slugged while I look for his teammate, who's definitely nearby, and as soon as he DCs she uses the hatch.
So about an hour ago, after watching some Otz stuff, I decide to hop on again, give it another go. I find matches quickly, but that doesn't really matter.
1st round was 3 red ranks and a rank 17. Probably a 4 man SWF. Teabagged me at gate. No sacrifices.
2nd round, 2 red ranks and 2 purple ranks. 3 of them have TTV in their names. Teabagged at gate, no sacrifices.
3rd round, all rank 18. Almost definitely de-pippers, however, because they looped insanely well, genrushed crazy fast, all had full purple perks and brought purple items, and they ALL HAD TTV IN THEIR NAMES. Obviously teabagged at gate, obviously no sacrifices.
I've seen a lot of people talk about how it's really hard to play killer at high ranks, but I'm rank 14 and I'm already getting these lobbies. I understand that I need to "git gud," but it feels impossible to really get any good when I can't play against people of my skill level. I'm considering leaving the game. Any ideas?
