Is it just me or does saloon feel like its from another game?
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the map, its pretty ok a fun map... very... very unique. It feels like it was pulled from another game. Like maybe Zelda or Assassin's Creed? Like they sat down and said 'Ok, this map isn't gonna be anything creepy or strange like a tingle building in the middle of ######### nowhere, its just gonna be a straight up old western town pulled right out of Gunsmoke or some other old western show.
Oh and we're gonna spam a SHITTON of breakable walls all over it!

No I think it fits really good into dead by daylight.

I actually really like this map and find it quite creepy.

Its one of my favourite maps alongside Campbell's chapel and The Yamaoka maps

It gives me the scooby doo vibes. I believe there was a game related to a western land.

Honestly feels like deathgarden devs made it in terms of personality and theme.

Yes it feels like a saloon to every cowboy game ever

Wait till they have a scary castle. Oh, a scary city would be nice.

I really think saloon only exists because rdr2 came out a year or so before it. I like the map tho. I dread midwich as survivor much more.

Haddonfield is scary small neighborhood.
I'm talking Urban not Suburban.

It's just the stereotype frontier towns.

I love the sky; the color of it and the way the mountains surround the map totally reminds me of the opening of The Hills Have Eyes.

Not really, not to me. This game has so much variety that Dead Dawg isn't even the biggest outlier. Personally, I think Midwich or Haddonfield are much more out there than Dead Dawg.

It’s from Redneck Rampage n the 90s. Just need moon pies and beer.

I hate that the sun is rising. Or is it setting? Either way, I hate it. Every time I'm on that map, I just stare at it angrily and think it has no place in DBD. It is a very unique map though.

It's probably because the map is set in daylight. Gives it another feel.

It's one of my favourite maps. Even if I hate the Building when playing Killer I still enjoy the Map.

because is the only map with a custom sky and perfect illumination

every Killer besides Deathslinger looks out of place in that map.
Cowgirl Nuse Skin when?

Ye I get what you mean. It definitely has a different vibe to it, I think due to all the different assets that they made for it. What I like the most about that map is the gallows. Its so unlike any other thing in the realm of the entity and how the bottom opens up and you fall through when you finish the gen there.
Also the "piano man" in the saloon got me giggling. Sounds like they are drunk playing the piano.

This scooby doo game.

🤢Those are the maps (along with Ormond) that are at the top of my "Most hated maps because of poor aesthetics" list. I...don't know how you can say what you just said.
By contrast, my favorite map for all roles is Crotus Prenn: Disturbed Ward (Pale Rose got displaced ever since its size reduction).

What the hell? Is this legit?
Also yeah it really is particular and i appreciate it a lot.

I can say that because I like the gameplay and theming of the maps, Idk how you can say Disturbed ward looks better than those

objectively, if taken out of the game and set on the highest graphic settings, the newer maps win outright. But in terms of feel, gameplay, tension, and lack of breakable walls, Disturbed Ward comes out as the champion. I wouldn't even be hating so much on the newer maps if they felt better to play on as a killer who loves to try crazy things in chase. I don't even like the newer maps as survivor because I have no good memories of escaping or of having any kind of atmospheric tension.
But mainly, when I see Disturbed Ward, the following images immediately come into my mind:
and while these are not taken by me, they imbue nostalgia into me whenever I play the map. Don't these look nice? and the light rays....ahh...
And they look nice even without the obnoxious grass (but the new grass looks really good on PTB Ormond tho 👌) found on the newer maps.

I guess we just have to agree to disagree, Father Campbells chapel has much more enjoyable gameplay, feel and tension to me. as its not a case of, oh Im in the main building Im gonna survive, and oh Im far from the main building well better luck next time.

Scooby Doo Showdown in ghost town 😉

I suppose we just feel differently, then. The main building on Disturbed Ward is my most favorite place in the entire game to chase survivors, and the outskirts of that map are the harder parts for me. The other maps always feel terrible to chase survivors on, and I never like being chased on them or not being chased on them as survivor, probably because every killer who can see my character model knows exactly what I'm going to do next in a chase, and the disturbed ward is the one place that has interesting verticality while giving me varied, short opportunities to break LOS.
oh, well. I suppose I wrote this as a way to tell the devs that I would appreciate it if they didn't break what I really enjoyed about the map if they ever decide to touch it and change how that window functions for killers and survivors stuck in one mindset.
