To the Killer Mains who do Tome Challenges

If you play a killer that maybe you aren't the best at, but you have a challenge for them, would you appreciate it if the survivors helped you with the challenge? Maybe as a result even bloodpoint farm and help them with theirs if they're doing challenges? I'm asking because I've had nonstop matches as Hillbilly today trying to get the 7 hits with the chainsaw. I'm not good at playing Hillbilly and survivors keep abusing tiles to try and avoid me. There's continuous flashlighting and making the game miserable. I'd be willing to farm with them if they helped with my challenge, but I guess they'd rather be toxic and make the game difficult then have a laid back game. You'd think after the 20th time trying to down them with the chainsaw with the current tome they would have figured it out and not just thought I was trying to be sweaty. (Especially since I hit them like once).

I tend to work my way around a challenge I'm not keen on then just hit it at the end. If you're no good with Billy then this challenge is the perfect time to practice him. He's a fun killers with a little bit of a learning curve

i did that hillbilly one the other day, it was a pain because bloodlust is off and people are abusing the heck out of it. I got it done in the end though with a few survivors letting me chainsaw them in the exit gates

After I try a challenge a few times and fail miserably, I'll start playing my matches by sticking the killer somewhere obvious and then I'll leave him standing there. It may not be the first match, but it usually doesn't take many matches before the survivors come to me and ask to farm. (I've pretty much given up trying to instigate farming; it rarely works out well and usually ends up being frustrating. Either the survivors are desperate for my attention and will offer to farm, or they can do gens and leave with no killer interaction.)

I tried earlier to do the 7-hits-with-a-chainsaw thing. I even put on the Speed Limiter in the hopes they'd understand... nope. I only tried once. Next time, I'm just gonna stand the Hillbilly in the middle of the map until I get survivors willing to farm. I do not like playing as him.

Billy needs some practice. Don't get frustrated when you miss chainsaws.

Give him time, it's very fun killer to play.

If you are not a good billy, that challenge is perfect for you! Just try chainsaws only, don't use your m1.

    Or just farm...

I'm ok with Billy so I made all killer challenges without farming. But I wouldn't mind if survivors help.

And I could use some help from killers when I play survivor challenges. Challenge with 3 pallet stun I completed when I got nice Hilbilly. I stood in palet. He stopped in front of me. I was waving him to give me stun. He was noding no. I gave him my toolbox, and he let me stun him. But I got he wasn't into farming so I ran away. I came back to take my toolbox just to break couple of hooks for daily ritual. He noticed me and noded no to me. I ran away and did a gen. Then I found a flashlight. When Billy chased me he was trying to chainsaw me. I was looking for palets. We reached unsafe loop where he accidentally bumped into palet and I stunned him second time. He managed to hook me twice. Third time I found him during endgame collapse. I ran to pallet, gifted him flashlight before he reached me. He didn't want to give me stun because he was charging chainsaw. So I tricked him pretending I going to loop so he uncharged chainsaw and I stunned him third time. After that I stopped resist. He chainsawed and brought me to exit gates. He was playing helpful but challenging at the same time.

My problem with this is too often the killer is an #########, proceeds to slug and hook us all.

Happened to me at least 3 times.

No, I'll take the challenges and attempt to complete them myself.

Find someone else to farm with.

If you can not with a challenge gives to understand the farm there are many players who help you, to my the hill billy I did until I can do it because I like the killer, but with the blight I have to asked for help because I do not like that killer anything and do not play with him ever, maybe there are people who like to do them all without help, maybe there are those who don't even make them, or who wants to do them but has no time, in the end you have to do them anyway because you have a time limit to reach level 70 and claim the prizes

Pretty sure the mods and devs look down on farming....

I don't farm myself unless its for a Killer Adept. I say farm loosely, because that usually means me giving Survivors second chances by letting them heal themselves, pick themselves up, do some gens: all so I can keep chasing, downing, getting every hook I can until I max every scoring event. Can't wait for the emblem system to change so I don't have to constantly do this.

I am simply avoiding the Hillbilly challenge because playing the current Hillbilly actively reduces my enjoyment of this game, and I'd rather not make that a reality.

But more to the point, I did try to farm with survivors for the breaking tome challenge. Still didn't get it, but I got lucky with a three gen in a different match and got it there.

Speed Limiter is the key to getting Billy challenges. They stop taking you seriously once they notice and give you easier hits.

oh yeah some challenges a bascially impossible if they dont let you get it ie: grab challenges

Lucky. I tried that and it didn't work for me. Finally got it done thanks to an AFKer.

I just want to take this moment to rant that I was doing that finish-3-gens-in-one-match challenge... Finally, I had a match where no one suicided and I didn't get tunneled, I did 2 and 99.99999% gens... then the killer hooked me and the survivors finished the gens before coming to save me. $W%&^^&%#$#T%%$# ... I don't care if that was the smart play, challenges like this really blow. The ones that have to be completed in a single match can be quite frustrating.

In general, its best to tell your teammates if you're running a challenge. Those people didn't know they were supposed to save gens for you to finish with them

I'm on PS4, and even if messages were turned on crossplay means that a lot of lobbies can't communicate pre- or post-game.

(And like I said, I was just ranting. I'm not upset at the players, I hate those kind of challenges. Getting that third gen to 99.9% but not completing the challenge because the survivors made the right play in that situation sucks. The challenge's requirements aren't sensible in terms of realistic gameplay with the way matches go, especially for solo survivors.)

You should try the challenges from Tome 1.

Finish repairing 4 generators with Dark Sense equipped in one trial and Sacrifice all 4 Survivors in the basement in one trial were some of the highlights. It was a trip for sure

I have a hard time doing survivor ones ( points at random scrubs I keep getting) either that or in the span of 24hrs I was targeted for 50+ games off the bat not fun.

upside I pallet slammed a clown 5 times in a row before first hook one time

as a survivor I look for non aggressive behavior to determine whether or not the killer is farming ( I need to learn that michael staring at me on a gen does not mean he wants to farm )

unfortunately killer really is the power role in that way, so the killer has to show that they are playing differently. I think the best way to do that is to down but not hook, just carry them back to a gen, whack it a few times while they are on your shoulder, and let them wiggle off. throw in speed limiter and they should get the gist

I've done all the challenges for all the previous Tomes and levels. The only unfinished ones are challenges for the current level.

That Dark Sense one was crazy stupid, too. And the basement one. I think the basement one I got with the help of one or two AFKers/suicides, but damn if the last survivor didn't fight like hell; even though he was definitely going to die, he kept getting off my shoulder and running away from the basement. Took like three tries to get him on that hook. Yeah, I hate so many of the challenges that have to be completed in a single match.

I completed that challenge in one match. I guess I got lucky because I got Survivors who were willing to farm but the main reason I got it because I equipped Speed Limiter. So everytime I would chainsaw them, they would heal up and stand in line to get chainsawed again 😂

Like I said probably got lucky for getting those Survivors

I would love it if Survivors helped me with challenges and trophies (especially the Adepts, doing those all over again with new requirements is going to be hell). I'd prefer not to play a Killer I don't like over and over again because they have a challenge or trophy tied to them.

When you are doing challenges with most killers you can find many ways to signal to players you are not trying to WIN and are up to something. I find that 1 in 2 games, or at worst 1 in 3 games, I can communcate very well to survivors when I need to do something specific and we just accomplish that and farm the quests

Those other games are amusing because the survivors are playing super serious when it is very clear the killer is not in any way trying ot hit them, but they are still acting all sweaty.

  • I've had killers help me with challenges before, but I have never ever had survivors help me with anything lol.

Just use the Kool-aid Man addon on Billy should give you some easy hits

In my experience it’s exceedingly easy to start a farm sessions if I want. Only issue is you’d really have to get survivors to trust you to get 2 chainsaws back to back on billy lol
