Why is Tombstone so busted?

I've probably played 10 games today and 3 of those was where a Michael was able to just tombstone 3/4 of the survivors. Is there a reason they added such a busted add-on for Michael? I mean I understand it's an ultra rare add-on and isn't easy for the Killer to grab - however it just seems extremely busted considering it's not hard for a decent Michael to remain perma Tier III.

The ultra rare is pretty easy to counter and takes insane amout if time to reach tier 3 as you need it paired with the permanent EW3 addon which together take a lot of stalk, enough to finish all gens before michael gets it.

Besides denying stalk, doing gens, stealth, noticing the mori hand etc you still have the strongest counter, the lockers. It has more then enough counterplay and good survivors who understand how that addon works don't really have a problem with beating it.

The purple tombstone is far more problematic and could use more notifications before it activates as doesn't have nearly as many downsides as the ultra rare tombstone.

Yes, it sucks to play vs.

But then ask, what else does Mikey Myers have that redeems him basekit? He's an m1 killer that needs to stalk to even m1 people.

The purple tombstone add-on is actually strong. The red one is terrible because it slows Michael down and takes even longer to charge up than the purple one.

Tombstone Myers is one of the only killers that still makes survivors be worried about being found and caught once. As a survivor, I play like every one of my downs is my last hook, and I really don't enjoy matches that have me getting hooked multiple times and then escaping.

Most survivors currently expect themselves to be downed three different times and hooked three different times, and that's mainly because the survivor meta stretches the killer's ability to do that almost to the breaking point, and I don't find that scary.

I play killer like how I'd want to have a killer play against me (there are always exceptions), and that generally means I find infinite tombstone Myers to be a-okay. It also means that I like to use my Tier III as a Tombstone piece Myers to down survivors first and then surprise tombstone one of them when the game's reaching a final point (ending with four slugs or with four survivors at the exit gates). Because I don't like to use the Tombstone right away and survivors love trying to 360 me when I'm trying to just lunge and down them, I often end up accidentally tomstoning a significant number of survivors because DbD's M1 mechanics really aren't that precise (and they probably should be a little more precise).

But to directly answer your question:

    it isn't.

They’re also thematically fitting as well. That was probably a strong consideration first and foremost before fairness was considered (at the time)
