Location Offerings: when can I use them?

So I know it can be really annoying to be sent to a map you don't like. If I see an offering for Haddonfield or Badham, I pretty much just accept I'll lose.

But GD, it love the Swamp. Swamp is the best map imo. It doesn't feel too killer or survivor sided, so I don't think it's toxic to use the offering. It's the only one I've ever used. I don't see Swamp too often in rotation anyway.

But, map opinions are subjective. I'm sure some people hate Swamp. So: what map offerings are non-toxic?

    It's personal preference

I don't like the corn maps (for obvious reasons)

I don't believe any map offerings are toxic. How can something that just chooses a location in game be toxic? Just play the game you don't play any other game with maps and just refuse to play because of a specific map do you? You're thinking too much into what is and isn't toxic if you're worried about maps being toxic, in all honesty the only toxic aspects are the end game chat, and very specific in game actions.

Its sad that this map is ruined for me because as a survivor i actually like it, its just the toxics always ruin it.

You can use them whenever you want. Just don't expect the killer to play nicely if you are sending them to a very survivor sided map.

On the other hand, when I see a Lery's, Hawkin's, or Game offering from the killer I usually know it's going to be a really rough or cheesy game.

I mean, if it's in the game, use it. Seriously, if no-one used Haddonfield offerings for easy wins then it would be much harder to pinpoint the problem.

I hate the Swamp, so I really hate being dragged there.

But, I don't really consider any of the map offerings particular toxic besides Ormond. And oh boy did it feel like a LOT of players were using Ormond offerings last week (maybe as a last hurrah before the updated version drops or just some really rotten luck on my part).

Only exceptions would be map offerings used to enable really nasty strategies (like a group of OoO-users forcing Midwich, or a group of Blendettes forcing Swamp/Yamaoka).

I think the bigger issue is the severe imbalance of control over offerings between killers and survivors, than map offerings themselves being toxic. Killers really need 2 offering slots so that they actually have some flexibility in controlling what happens in the game. As is, survivors have a 4:1 advantage over the killer and can do all sorts of nasty stuff by stacking upgrades.

If survivor map offerings were 'weaker' than killers (So single map offering is a 100% chance, while it takes 2 map offerings to 50/50 the killer's one) then that might make killers feel way less helpless when it comes to bad maps. While there are some very killer sided maps too, we don't see them nearly as often.

As survivor: any killer sided map.

As killer: any survivor sided map.

No matter what map you pick, there is someone out there thinking you are toxic for picking it. Just like there's always someone who thinks wraith or trapper is OP and unfair.

Idk how many people who overly mind most map offerings just as long as they aren't horribly one sided like Haddonfield/Ormond Or "The Game" vs the doctor.
