Match Canceled....1 minute after it starts?
Have been suffering from this lately, anyone else?
Just happened again, 1 minute, one survivor hooked, and error 500 again
I guess some servers are having trouble, because this is not normal

I was actually considering posting a thread like this as well. It is happening so frequently lately it's really annoying especially if it happens when you're getting a good start.

The game actually has a timer for loading players into matches. This exists because sometimes a round may start before every player has actually finished loading. If the timer ends before everyone is in-game, it will terminate the match.
tldr: dial up users arent loading fast enough

This occurs when a player disconnects during the load screen. There is currently no penalty for disconnects before the match begins, nor do I think there should be.
A tell that this may be happening is the husk of the DC’d survivor still loads and is an easy down. I always expect the match to end when this person gets crows.

It's not like that always, I had multiple matches where people got downed at start, didnt like it even though we were 3min in and they DC'd and match cancelled cause player didnt join but I saw all 4 of em running

I understand it, but why start a match if someone didnt load, or pair me with people that cant load at normal speed, if its going to be a error 500.. is just a waste of time for everyone. Those players should get paired accordingly, this is annoying

If I had to muster any reason, its better to hope that last remaining player loads in in time, than booting everyone out mid-loading.

Personally i dont mind a slower load if its needed, its much better than a match canceled, i just wanna play xd. It's also weird, because this is only happening in the last 2 weeks mostly, at least for me

I have experienced that a few times now as well. People got downed at the beginning, then dc'd, then the match was cancelled despite everyone being in the game.

I figured it was something like that. Last week when I began the game somebody was already fixing a nearby generator. I wonder if it’s possible to get hit by a killer before load in? Sometimes I’m surprised how closely I miss them at the start. Barely have time to hide.

I’d imagine crossplay affects this. Straight up PC games start about, I’d say, 5x faster than a console game

I've had a match where my team was already working on the gen next to me while I'm loading in. Another match I could hear the heartbeat approach while I was still stuck loading in. All those matches canceled after a min or so of gameplay.

This happens to my group a couple times a week. one of us will lose connection as game starts, and the game takes about 30 to 60 seconds to realize what is going on and cancels it. This has never triggered the 5 minute penalty either for us. I'd say this happens 1 in 30 or so games.

Same for me, but a couple times a day someone lags out of I'm in a group. Always required them to restart their game, sometimes their console.

A streamer let his buddy talk about an exploit for disconnecting during loading that let's players get done stuff done for BP and avoid DC penalty. Since videos of them talking about the exploit popped up there has been an increase in disconnects that have match canceled after loading in. It's pretty obnoxious.
