Why are the Killers from all time periods and Survivors like the last 50 years?
Honest question. I think the oldest Survivor based on the time period that they were taken is probably Kate or Ace. And they're still probably around the 1960s-1970s.

We do have the Plague, who lived in Babylon if I recall correctly, but I'm not sure why there's a huge gap between then and now in terms of killers

I'm talking about Survivor. There's more diversity in time periods for Killers. Like Blight is from Victorian England, Oni is from Feudal Japan and Huntress is from the 1920s-1930s

I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with the "freshness" of the Entity's food. To be completely honest, we don't know alot about some of the other named Survivors. Vigo, Benedict Baker. The Observer. Maybe Survivor's still age in the Entity's realm, since they aren't given all the crazy powers the Killers are. We know there are a lot of 'husks' so maybe the Entity constantly has to get new food, after they become to useless to it.

Sounds about right, "an all time classic", that part really killed me XD

We know that Huntress goes all the way back to World War two, which took place from 1939 to 1945. She was originally the oldest killer until the Plague was released.

This. This post right here broke my brain. How DID survivors escape before the time generators were invented??? 😱🤯

Killers are timeless from where they are picked up and Survivors are used up like double A batteries and discarded.
It's in the rift lore somewhere.

If memory serves me correct, in the journals of Benedict Baker (Who was from before generators were a thing), he talked about how he spent months in the trials learning how to repair generators himself before he really got the hang of it. I guess everyone else would have to do the same thing too.

Hypothetically the Entity is slowly devouring the survivors with every sacrifice. For someone to last a long, long time as a survivor they'd have to be truly bad ass.

Thank you for the info @Lambda I couldn't stop wondering about it!
Hmmm....a real bad-ass. Suddenly I have visions of Red Sonja and Conan the Barbarian cutting a path through the Entity's Realm 💯

I recently had the idea of a 50's survivor after a cool killer concept I saw. The cosmetics would be fun as hell and I'm sure the design team would have fun. Poodle skirts, polka dots, maybe even have her be a rockabilly chick.

The Entity feeds off of strong emotions. Modern humans are literal drama queens about everything so the Entity gets a belly full of tasty emotions after every trial.

I see now, my bad

I think it has to do with the lore of the entity and what it does. The entity feeds on hope I believe so eventually the survivors would lose hope and they'd have to be replaced by new survivors.

Not that we actually see him in game (or get references to him anymore), but Benedict Baker was from the late-19th century based on the dates of his journal entires.
Some of the other unseen characters from early-DbD's flavor text (along with the enigmatic Vigo) may have also come from different time periods than our modern-day group.

Ancient survivors would probably think gens are demonic creatures and wouldn't even go near them. Plague is probably equally confused but she doesn't have to try and repair them, just whack em

Ash was transported from sometime in the early 90’s, at the age of 35, all the way back to the Middle Ages or Medieval England, 1300AD, somewhere inbetween the 13th and 14th centuries...
So, Ash (who was born in 1957) having been pulled into the entity’s realm in his late 50’s, would technically still be considered “from another time period” even though he arrived in DBD land much later in life.
Totally true what your saying tho; interestingly enough, all survivors were pulled in within the last 5 decades.
