Is True Blight another version of Talbot Grimes?

(Just to deviate from the bugs and balance posts on here)

I've been thinking about it recently, in the Halloween archives we had this year, it showed Talbot as normal.

Despite him having transformed into the default blight before that point. Plus during the animation he goes straight from normal, to the True Blight.

Another thing I see is that the True Blights skin has a different style of hood than the default.

So is the True Blight another version of Talbot that the Entity decided to transform?

Talbot has been referred to multiple times by BHVR as their version of a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde type killer. Although it seems disjointed and weird to go from survivor Talbot to voided survivor Talbot to True Blight, it makes sense if you consider True Blight as Talbot's first real taste of what the serum can do a person, specifically himself. The effects most likely "wore off" and he reverted back to "survivor" Talbot, same way the Blight serum wears off on the killers Talbot experimented on since time in the realm of the Entity is anything but permanent. The difference being that his mind and mental state stayed corrupted, leading to him taking more serum in the Chapel as shown in the release trailer, giving us the Blight we as the default version of Talbot's killer side.

I thought he experimented on the killers and before his mind broke he used it on himself. Also does it ever mention the serum "wearing off" because i think that is super unlikely considering how when he is blight he is basically a drug addict taking serum every 10 seconds.

I'm pretty sure true blight is from repeated usage of the serum not his first use of it otherwise he would look like true blight in the trailer but he has his default skin instead.

We actually see where the true blight comes from, in the cutscene the entity directly injected him with a large amount of pure blight serum. Then tossed him into the main menu lobby while he was mutating.

Have you seen the "Doors Unknown" cinematic? You wouldn't be saying this if you had.

i have and nothing there proves killers revert or recover from the serum effects.

as far as any of us are aware that might have all been in his head, and again the fact that he constantly uses the serum makes it unlikely that he could recover and revert back to a survivor.

From my view all killer blight cosmetics are how they actually look now after they got injected, there is no prove to disprove this and while you might be right that they can recover that is as i said very unlikely for blight.

"I'm pretty sure true blight is from repeated usage of the serum not his first use of it otherwise he would look like true blight in the trailer but he has his default skin instead."

You wouldn't be saying this if you saw the Doors Unknown cinematic. It's clear as day how Talbot became True Blight. The point of my comment towards you wasn't about the effects reverting, it was about your total lack of understanding on how Talbot's first true exposure to "lethal" amounts of serum affected him, causing him to change into the True Blight we see. And since that was his first transformation, and the cinematic trailer for Descend Beyond shows him in his human form, the only logical conclusion to make is that the effects wear off after a time.

Unless you think the cinematic wasn't canon which makes zero sense since every other chapter cinematic is official in context to the story of the update and the characters included.

you just ignored what i said about it being in his head but whatever it doesn't matter since it's all theories and nothing is set in stone. for all we know it could be another blight from a different dimension or something and guess what? that is just as likely since the latest archives revealed that there is multiple claudettes. edit: which means multiple versions of all characters.

Swear to God these lore writers can't do anything right.

How the hell can you release a new killer and the trailer of said new killer, and 2 months later release a new lore video about this same killer that retcons the trailer you released just 2 months prior. Freaking mental.

Is it so ######### difficult to stay consistent and not throw up retcons after retcons for the same story?

And don't get me started on all the retcons doctor, trapper and legion had as well...

Can't wait for the new retcons we'll get to Oni and Nurse in the upcoming tome.

The event in the tome is mental so he may or may not mutate by the end of it.

If he mutate first time by the end of the tome:

The 1st mutation was because of the Entity forcing the nectar into his body and since that was the nectar in its pure form without it being modified the effect wore off for the first time after the yearly blight ended.

The 2nd mutation we see is from the intro cut scene is the permanent mutation since Talbot modified it like he did with the rest of the serums and the item descriptions (Compound Thirty-Four and skins) point towards that because it mentions it being the last serum he created before he become a feral beast.

He is normal Blight any other time of the year and on Halloween he turns into True Blight because the serum in his veins would be supercharged during that time and the canker blossom within him, turning him into a True Blight temporary just like how the Entity has to deal with the mutation/blight temporary during the yearly blight.

That's the most logical justification I've seen thus far, since BHVR intends to continue to use Talbot as a storytelling piece, it'll be interesting to see how everything unfolds in the coming years.

I'm guessing we may get these stories on Halloween since it become his theme. I think the stories we will get are from before he mutated into Blight because he had his mind and memories back then.

I want to know if the serum he created can lose its effect on him slowly. The more he uses it, the more his body builds up a tolerance, like how drugs effect work and if he can gain his mind back slowly this way, but without his body changing back to normal since these body changes seems irreversible.
