it has some challenges that talk about the viseral cankers but im not sure if they spawn anymore.
since i didnt get it during the event am i out of luck or will it spawn them in if i select it?

They spawn based on if you have the challenge or not, and you can only harvest it if you had the challenge selected.
You can still do the challenges, just the reason you don't see many anymore is because most people completed the challenges already.

they have a lore that started with an event, but they are not just from event
btw yes they always spawn
