Making this game scary for yourself and others
Let me just preface this by saying scaring someone is more than just a jump scare. First you have to give someone something engaging, then you have to make them afraid that a jump scare could happen.
Making this game scary for other people will mainly revolve around perks, your power, and add-ons so to generalize this as much as possible I'll discuss perks.
Basic perk build:
Lullaby- It's purpose is to make gens more engaging. Without skill check warnings the person's eyes are gonna be glued to the screen, meaning they'd be more susceptible to the killer attacking while they're on the gen.
Insidious- Use this perk to ambush survivors; you'll usually only have to do it once because once you do it the threat that it could happen again will linger for the rest of the game. This threat could also become a lot scarier if you manage to get a basement hook.
Iron Maiden/Dragon's Grip- Depending on the killer and the map these two can be interchangable because they serve similar purposes. If a stealth gamer manages to evade you long enough for you to leave the area, they'll be treated to this perk activating. The point is to make them feel safe for a moment before you attack. It also can potentially have good synergy with insidious.
Noed- This perk will make basically any play 1000 times more risky, but it also has potential to just be annoying instead of scary. You should probably avoid using it on Nurse, Spirit, or Hag since they probably use that perk the best and your goal is to be scary, not annoying.
These perks can be interchangable with other builds or sightly stronger perks but the staples are lullaby, a stealth perk, any sort of perk that makes situations where you would normally be safe bad, and noed. If you want you can use other builds but you should refrain from use the absolute top tier meta perks, you should be putting them in bad situations but they should be beatable. Not saying that perks like ruin/undying aren't unbeatable but they're honestly just more annoying than scary in most situations.
You can also use perks that synergize well with your power/add-ons. Try to get the most out of your power by using it in creative ways, just don't be predictable.
To make this game scarier for yourself you should be giving yourself handicaps without them affecting your gameplay too much. Basically run anything but no mither.
Basic perk build:
Mettle of Man- Once you get it to activate you can either heal and it'll almost always show your aura to the killer or you can stay injured. You'll basically be banking on the killer not using such valuable information, which is unlikely but entirely possible.
Lithe- It's probably the most unreliable of all the exhaustion perks because it's harder to pull off most of the time. It gives you a reason to go for risky plays without doing all the work for you.
Premonition- It'll give you valuable information but it's also very unreliable most of the time. It'll give you another thing to worry about but it doesn't do the work for you, like spine chill would in most situations.
Slippery Meat- It'll give you a reason to try to unhook yourself without the reward being guaranteed. It can give you a second chance but it'll be more rare than usual.
The goal is to encourage risky plays without guaranteeing payoff like most meta perks. Mainly just stay away from spine chill since that does the most work for you.
Anyway sorry this is a bit long, most people probably wouldn't care about this but if you did thanks for reading.

Try nemesis, dark devotion, play with your food, and discordance on Bubba. The idea is whenever discordance activates you can m1 the obsession and leave chase for a stack of play with your food to easily disrupt two people on a gen.
